San Francisco is a city home to 8 ft. tall black men dressed as women, socialist midget lesbian activists, some of stupidest fucking hippies ever and crack heads who talk to and pee on themselves in public while crossing the street at a red light.
San Francisco is a city home to 8 ft. tall black men dressed as women, socialist midget lesbian activists, some of stupidest fucking hippies ever and crack heads who talk to and pee on themselves in public while crossing the street at a red light. Fortunately, San Francisco is also home to hundreds of thousands of artists and creatives who are all striving to be original and innovative. SF has cultivated a plethora of legendary skateboarders, BMX riders, graffiti artists, bands, architects, composers, financiers, DJ’s, rappers and most importantly rollerbladers, who have made a name for the city and for themselves.

Rollerblading belongs in a place like San Francisco. Things are just different here. San Francisco citizens take pride in being more enlightened than the average fat fucking American on topics ranging from politics to fashion. We don’t let chain stores occupy our urban neighborhoods, we are accepting of almost any belief and behavior under the sun (legal marijuana & gay marriage) and are pretty much down to party all of the time that we’re not working our asses off to pay the second highest rent in the United States. Those typically thought of as “San Francisco rollerbladers” who aren’t paying exorbitant rents live in the surrounding suburbs of the Bay as well as in Oakland. In fact, there are very few rollerbladers who ever really lived in San Francisco due to the high cost of living and the Bay Area’s excellent rapid transit system, getting you to SF in around 45 minutes from the farthest suburb covered within its route. Over time, the proving ground of San Francisco has highlighted why urban Northern California is best in breed when it comes to giving birth to street skating legends. Jon Julio, Pat Lennen, Brian Shima, BJ Bernhardt, Jason Marshall… the list goes on. To even understand how deep San Francisco rollerblading really is you have to know your history.
