Kaycee is one of those bladers that has been involved since basically the beginning and will continue to be involved in rollerblading. How he looks at rollerblading, contributes to it, gets excited about it and loves it, is sure to keep him rolling for many years to come.
Kaycee is one of those bladers that has been involved since basically the beginning and will continue to be involved in rollerblading. How he looks at rollerblading, contributes to it, gets excited about it and loves it, is sure to keep him rolling for many years to come. He has become a great friend of mine and is the person to call to blade no matter how random the spot/idea is. Through his job and acquaintances outside of rollerblading he has been able to set a positive image of rollerblading to those he comes into contact with. We need more like him.

William Anderson: “State your name” and rep your city “gangster” -Krazie Bone/Bone-Thugs-in-Harmony-Kaycee Landsaw: Haha gangster… not so much. I’m Kaycee Landsaw, 23 years old and still a grom, big deal. I was born and raised in Bountiful, Utah just outside of Salt Lake City. I believe I have been blading for just over 13 years now.
William Anderson: What VG video era are you?Kaycee Landsaw: First VG I had was VG3, I had just started blading when that video came out and my best friends older brother hooked it up. Nothing like a first video, I watched that video before and after each time I went out to blade.
Ao Topsoul - SLCWilliam Anderson: So how does it feel to be a veteran in the blade world?Kaycee Landsaw: It hurts. No seriously it does. Went out the other day to get some photos and not only was it freezing but every time I fell I thought I was gonna die. You young kids out there don’t take it for granite how much easier blading is on you.
William Anderson: What are you rollin’ on and why?Kaycee Landsaw: I rode Valos for the longest time but recently made the switch to carbons. Currently my set up is black first gen. carbons ,with the Colin Kelso grey slimline Kizer frames, and Damien Wilson M1 wheels. I ride carbons because they are the best skate out on the market right now. I have never had so much control in a skate before and I just love the feel of all my moves. USD’s design and innovation is leading the industry right now.
Soul up to fencebonk 270 out - Downtown SLCWilliam Anderson: What past 5 bladers have you jocked and who are you currently jocking?Kaycee Landsaw: Past bladers…. definitely number one would be Dustin Latimer, I used to always paint mindgame logos on the side of my thrones like he did in Coup De Tat and Brain Fear Gone. I used to jock Shima pretty hard back in the day too, I even created an email account called biggshimadogg@hotmail.com and my login still works… no further comment. There was a ton of people I used to jock, just to list a couple more I started rocking the double tee shirt look with one side pulled over the shoulder like Dominic Sagona. Also after seeing Chris Farmer and Alex Broskow rock the big baggy sweats you know I went out and bought some.
Currently I don’t know that I jock anyone but I definitely keep my eyes on a few different guys, no homo. My top five are Kelso brothers, Billy O’Neil, Dominic Sagona, Rob G, Chris Cheshire, Tory Treseder, and pretty much all of the truth 2 crew. That is more than five but those are the main ones.
William Anderson: Name some necessities to bring with you when you blade.Kaycee Landsaw:
- Tub of wax
- Mason Stone (changed my life when I found out what this was)
- Quick Crete
- Mini Broom
- Bad-A Gloves (fingerless gloves, I always gotta ride with them)
- Ski rack for the car (best tool for transporting things like pipes, dolly system, practice box, you name it)
- Rope (to stablize sketchy spots)
- Saws-All
360 Mizou 360 out - Bountiful UTWilliam Anderson:Best Phrases Using the word Bl8.Kaycee Landsaw:
- Bl8 or Die
- See ya Bl8er
- Don’t h8 Bl8
- You juiced on the Bl8eraid today?
- It’s not luck, I had Bl8eration last night (revelation)
- Bl8 and Destory
William Anderson: Best part about the SLC blading scene.Kaycee Landsaw: I just love blading is Salt Lake. We have everything you could want to skate. Although the scene has been really small for the longest time it is really starting to grow. I think it has to do with a few very influential people here in the valley, Tory, Cam, Beast, Chris, Frodo, and really just anyone else whom blades. We are a tight knit group and every time you go out it is a good time. Also because snowboarding and skateboarding are super popular, lots of normal basic handrails are starting to get knobbed. It sucks to see so many good spots die in the area but at the same time it is awesome because it forces you to be more creative with what you skate.
Lately my blading has been all about creativity and finding new rugged spots that no one besides Beast and I think about skating. We also have lots of really cool inner city spots that have been over looked for so long and have never been touched.
