Issue 36 focuses on the marketing crossovers and promotion currently happening in rolling worldwide. We want to show you how rolling has changed over the years and how tours, skate contest and skaters act in the climate of today’s industry.
On the contest side we explore the 2 biggest core skate contests (Winterclash and BCSD) which both stepped up their game this year and drew more attention from outside than ever before.
On a tour level we follow USD and Nimh as they dive into the booming South American market, where the team skaters are treated like rockstars and they travel from one city to another meeting tons of skaters and blowing the minds of spectators as they go.
We also aim to showcase the current scene of skating in Europe; we take a look at the thriving skating scene in Berlin where a large community of skaters recently moved and are also making inroads into lives outside of skating.
Freshly conceived for this issue we’re shining a light on skaters who have made their mark outside of our arena; for the first installment we met up with Kareem Sheehab who recently made a huge impact in the world of fixed gear bicycles and we caught up with Mark Wodja, who was featured in last year’s Am issue.
This issues intro having been written by the proud recipient of Rollerblade’s latest Pro skate, Robert Guerrero.
