4.5 Miami Budz

4.5 Miami Budz is a continuation to the most recent segment of the Buddy Tour series. Buddy4: CT to Pow-wow to MIA ended with a Tampa section, my last stop before moving to South Florida, along with the text "THE END I live in Miami now." Technically I lived in Hollywood, FL, but I spent most of my time outside of work and studying skating and hanging out with my friend 'Uncle Blake' Taylor in Miami and the greater South Florida area.

Everything by Ian Copp

From May to December, Blake and I skated and filmed with the intention of having good times and filming a profile for Blake. Along the way we skated in Miami, Hollywood, Ft. Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Key Biscayne, Hallandale, Aventura, North Miami, Kendall, Dania Beach and more with just as diverse a group of accompanying skaters. We skated with our energetic friend Jesse James, old school Miami staples Chris Moroco, Chris Padilla, and EZ Goeazy, Rob Squire and the Boca Raton SoFlo crew, out of town visitors Augusto Castillo and Pablo Porta, and an impressive number of attendees at weekly skatepark sessions.

My time in Miami is over for now. I'm on to more moving around and am already meeting skaters in my new temporary home, Chicago. Buddy Tours are over for now as well. The series has strayed too far from the roots of Michael Kraft and I road tripping – writers, filmers, skaters, and soy product sharers. As I sit here Christmas morning drinking coffee with Pumpkin Spice Silk 'egg nog', I miss my friend that introduced me to this lovely soy-based beverage. We'll get in a proper Buddy Tour again soon.

S FL has been fun. Thanks to Blake for keeping me company, and thanks to all the skaters for sticking with it and making the sessions fun. Thanks for filming Blake, Rob, Augusto, Pablo, and Fromm.
