This is the special Winterclash information and I think that I have to say something right away. I’m not a person that tends to show off… But nevertheless this text will perhaps sound a bit like and you could get the impression that things are totally overdone.

Dear rollerblading Europe,

This is the special Winterclash information and I think that I have to say something right away. I’m not a person that tends to show off… But nevertheless this text will perhaps sound a bit like and you could get the impression that things are totally overdone.

It has already been made public that rollerbladers from a lot of different countries have confirmed to come. But I think that no one would have guessed that only half of them really show up at the Winterclash. Now - there are only a few days left until the Winterclash is going to happen and it looks as if everyone would push their plans into action.

During the last few days hotels, flights, car-rentals, trains and busses have been arranged. It is simply impressive to see how people from so many countries are searching fort he best, cheapest and fastest way to get to the Winterclash. May I give you a little impression? Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Hungary, Portugal, Poland, France, England, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, Bulgaria, Israel, Romania, Russia, Croatia, Serbia, Spain, Scotland and the USA. Rollerbladers form all these countries have already confirmed to come.

Rollerblading is becoming smaller? We are too much „underground“?? True! And it would not a wrong if this would change a bit. But the last days showed to me how extremely unique and special the whole thing is right now! This small community is so great. That people from Portugal, Spain or Scotland take this really long trip just to spend a weekend of skating with other rollerbladers and partying is awesome. This shows where rollerblading is right now and that it (You can think what you want!) is something really special.

I want to once again point out that I don’t like to show off, but that as it looks right now, the WINTERCLASH 2006 will be the biggest meeting in European rollerblading since a long time. No matter how high the level of the tricks will be, no matter if there are 300 or 700 rollerbladers, it’s going to be international and I’m excited like a little child to meet new people from new countries in Mühlhausen!

I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE WO WILL TAKE THE LONG, OR PERHAPS NOT SO LONG TRIP TO MÜHLHAUSEN!

THANK’S! We’ll meet in a few days!

- Jojo Jacobi
