Rejects went out of business some time ago but Charles Dunkle and Shawn Engler who were responsible for the DVDs for Rejects magazine decided to pay a big tribute to Rejects for one last time. Every issue of Rejects came with a DVD. So they decided to release the ultimate Rejects DVD collection to make sure that you not just remember them if you still have an issue in your bathroom but also if you go through your private DVD collection.
What can you say about the Rejects DVD collection, besides that there are hours and hours of footage packed onto these DVD's? Well, if you watch the whole thing in one go, you can hardly remember what you saw at the beginning once you have reached the end. As Engler and Dunkle come from Alabama they used a lot of footage from this area. But there is also a lot more on these DVDs than just skating from Alabama . They offer everything from the East Coast to the West Coast and back. There are sections from California , KFC, New York, Texas, Nevada and lots of other places.
What I also found very interesting is that you can see the development of today's ?superstars?. Micah Yeager the king of wheelies, negatives and interesting clothes, Eric Bailey one of the sickest rollerbladers today and the Kelsos all had profiles before they became big names. Micah has even got two sections on different DVDs as well as Dunkle. So you can see Micah's development and you can see that rockers (almost) don't change if you watch Dunkle's sections. Tory Treseder has got his best section ever on one of the DVDs; at least this is what I think.
If you think this is all you are pretty much on the wrong track. I think I'll just give you a list of the profiles I found (perhaps you can find even more): 2 x Charles Dunkle, 2 x Micah Yeager, Kelso brothers, Chris Haffey, Eric Bailey, Tory Treseder, Brian Shima, KFC, Alex Broskow, Rob Thompson and Jeff Stockwell;
I'm quite confident that you know who is more or less responsible for the creation of Roces' new image. And if you know this, it is not too hard to guess what kind of music is used most frequently on these DVD's. Yeah, you guessed right, most of it is rock but you can also find other genres.
Also I don't think that anyone is more extreme than Dunkle who let's someone, who I bet has never done this before, throw knives at him. No wonder that one of them hits his head and he's covered in his own blood. Still he does not get hysterical but stays all calm and fools around. I don't know what mama Dunkle fed to baby Charles to make him the crazy bastard he now is.
Also considering the amount of footage you get for your money you have to agree to the fact that this DVD is one of the cheapest out there. Nowhere else you will get an equal amount of rollerblading for this price.
And to top this all off, all the proceeds will go toward the new print venture of the two, Rollerblading Mag. So you know that your money is spent wisely! Go get it now!
