Label Me! Review

So there were these Rumors that the Drungs and Christian Koll are going to make this video. What? You do not know Christian Koll and the Drung Brothers? Hmm….ever saw Clip 3? And you also love this Day/Night Montage? Shit. Just Imagine having like, A WHOLE VIDEO just with the perfect imperfection of that Montage? Maybe way hotter? For the others, or the ones that are still not sure about getting this years euro release number one, go on reading.

Filming/Editing:

So, this first. Cause it´s kinda the most important thing. For the beginning I have this little Sentence out of the 8 Pages Booklet for you:

“Motivation is the most important thing, for Skaters and Filmers. Filming Rollerblading can get boring real quick, so you are trying to get as many different ways of filming in your video.”

And that´s what they did. Shit it actually IS the first skate video I saw where I can say I´d put 100% of the clips in my own video. And that´s not easy my friends. Also when Sven Hachmeister ( a even crazier filming fetishist as I am) came up to me before I saw the flick and reportet how fucking sick the filming and the editing would be. And yes It is.
Drive by´s , cool angles, and all of that is super clean. Every trick is color corrected, well I´m sure the footy would look cool without any too. But these guys know their job, so it turned out to be even better. They got this sick, like 70´s style in there.

The Montages:

They got three Montages including sick skating of Dave Benski, Markus Milcke, Matt Ogger, Jochen Smuda and way more. I personally like every Montage and enjoy them over and over again. One of them is filmed completely at night, with a generator and lights, how about that? Fuckin Sick.
Beside the 3 “normal” montages, the video also includes a disco skater in the city of Stuttgart and even a STARLIGHT EXPRESS montage. Christian Koll got the chance to film with two skaters right in there. Cool Stuff.

Profile Thomas Thellmann:

Up and Coming and I hope Staying and Never Leaving. This guy stands for style and Creativity. His super clean skating is so good to watch. He actually kicks every 540 spin to grind boys´ass just by thinking about the most important thing in rollerblading, style. This guy actually gets the “it´s not what, it´s how you do it” award. Chris Koll really did a good Job on that one.

Profile Michi Hieber:

I love this section, he´s more immortal than benny harmanus haha. How can somebody just skate with so much speed? Well he said “if I have to buy these expensive wheels anyway, i´ll use them to the fullest, Otherwise I could get some Soap´s too.”
His skating is way different then every others german rollerbladers. You know, It´s like, you got two meals for example: a perfect fresh Wiener Schnitzel, and a 10 day old fish sandwich, he would choose the fish sandwich, haha. So his skating does. Never the perfect Spots, he skates things people just imagine to do when driving by with a car and forgetting it after ten seconds.

Music:

No Songlist nothing. People will freak out. Label Me! offers one of the best soundtracks ever. Every song fits to every section. The got very fine guitar music. Still they want you to find the out the songs by yourself, and not to download it. Cause two clicks are not what music is about.

Bonus:

Theres like another halb hour of bonus with montages and super funny shit. In the Bonus section you can also find a Anatol Anton and Dave Benski section.

This Video is really good and worth it´s money. So I´d say, get it.

-Gabriel Hyden

I haven't seen the movie yet but I know Christian and his editing style. And old movie of him is "Stolen moments"(not the mainstream one) and that movie is really great. He really chooses the music well and he's very creative.

I'm getting definitely this movie!!!!!
