Just over a week ago the new Be-Mag DVD titled Featuring the World was premiered in Toronto, Canada. Rollerbladers from the Toronto area got together for a day of skating and hanging out with friends.

The day for some started out by meeting downtown for a street session. For many the session started at around 1 o’clock but did not officially commence until an hour later when the remainder of the skaters trickled in. Hands down last Sunday was the nicest day we'd seen since winter end; the sun was out in full force and the temperature increasingly rising. Everyone skated pretty hard for a good 3 to 4 hours, during that time Kyle Goss laced countless switch ups with perfection on a flat rail then moved on to skate a freshly waxed and well over waist high flat ledge. He skated the ledge as if it were a run of the mill park object and landed a few tricks including a stylish true mizou. DP (Daniel Davidson-Pilon) also showed his determination to skate his best on the flat rail by landing ticks such as a bs royale to ts porn to fs torque and bs royale to ts porn to fs full torque to 540 rewind out. Aaron Mcinnis also skated with his usual smooth style and unique trick selection while Jon Craig continues to showcase his huge trick vocabulary. You can check out everyone's blading skills in the video.

The second last spot we skated was especially fun. It is a downrail right beside the famous CN Tower where pedestrians of the Toronto streets were lucky enough to witness the amazing feats that can be preformed on rollerblades. We were the performers of our own little show where onlookers could be seen clapping for those who landed tricks. At around 6pm the 15 to 20 rollerbladers skating downtown headed to the pub to witness the premiere of the Be-mag video.

Rollerbladers from all over Toronto and its’ surrounding cities starting showing up at Grace O'Malley's at around 6pm. But due some bad traffic conditions people were slow to arrive, so the video didn't start till about 7:15pm. I think everyone was excited to see fellow Canadian rollerblader Rishie Eisler’s profile in Featuring the World. Although, he has had other sections before from Be-Mag, this was the first to be in the actual video rather than bonus content. I'd say that was the highlight of the video for most of the rollerbladers there because many of us know Richie personally from skating with him in Toronto or in Montreal at the MTL Classic. The rest of the video was well received. We got to watch the pros we all know and love skating different parts of the world and also see some fresh skating from locals in areas such as Japan, and Australia. Overall Be-Mag should be congratulated for putting together a great video with a good variety of skaters and spots.

Overall it was a great day for rollerbladers to reunite with old friends and to meet new ones. There was about 50 rollerbladers of different ages and skating backgrounds in the pub that night. It's great to have such a diverse group of rollerbladers together in the same room. Everyone can learn something from one and other, whether it is the newbies being encouraged by the OGs or the OG's getting excited to see new people rollerblading. I think everyone gets reminded of why they started rollerblading, and after a night like that all they want to do is go rollerblading.

To finish off the day, a group of us went to skatepark just outside of Toronto to do what we love to do, rollerblade.

Thanks to Be-Mag for letting us have this premiere.
