Opus is a film by Jeremy Cloe. As far as I know you can – unfortunately – not buy this DVD in Europe! But I was lucky enough to get my hands on a copy of Opus. The profiled skaters on this DVD are Tony Rivituso, Dan Dickerson, Jeremy Spira and the infamous Santee crew. Tony looks as if he was a handsome guy and he can skate quite well. His profile might not be comparable to one of Farmer, Broskow or Haffey but it is fun to watch. His profile definitely contains some sick tricks and you can feel the joy he feels while he is riding his skates.

Up next is Dan Dickerson. He skates fast and he likes European clothing. Dan looks as if he is well over twenty and still skating like hell. Such sections are putting me in a great mood because I see that getting older does not mean you can’t progress any more! Jeremy Spira is a hero, his skating sweet and now I know why he was chosen to be on the Be-mag tour. His skating and his looks somehow remind me of Brent Hicks. I really think that Spira has what it takes to become a professional and to be one of the future rollerblading icons!

The Santee crew consists of a bunch of totally crazy dudes who happen to like to rollerblade. Damien Wilson looks so cool when he throws his feet trough the air while grinding or jumping out of a grind. It looks so damn sick. His style is really unique and I think that’s one of the reasons why he is so famous in rollerblading. I bet that Rob Withcomb has got longer hair than your mom does. Somehow I have not jet figured out how Rob can skate with such a lot of hair flying around his head! But this is not all you also get to see some hammers by Nick Wood and the other Santee boys which I haven’t mentioned.

The montage sections feature skating by people like Haffey, JC, Shan Lapointe, Aragon, Gonzo and a lot of dudes I have never ever heard of. All in all I have to admit that I enjoyed this DVD very much. It is great to get a bit of an insight into other skating scenes around the world. If you have a look at the bonus part of the DVD you will find a crash section which Cloe put in to entertain you non rollerblading friends. This was the first work I saw of Jeremy Cloe and I would definitely enjoy seeing more DVD’s made by him.

Apologize? That's American English. I am from Britain and here we spell it "apologise". Sorry to be picky but i'm guessing you must be from North America somewhere?

Colour - color
Centre - center

And so on...

The differences that make us strange and great. Remember everyone, it takes time to creat cultures, not tantrums.

Please stop writing bad things about Lui. I didn't intend to make him look bad. I was just giving some constructive criticism. Keep up the effort Lui.

David, I agree with you about the reviews. I'm not gonna slaughter you, but..... 'I' and 'apologize'. Maybe one of us should do the reviews? Ha.

@ de_flori:
please stop attacking people when they're only speaking what's on their mind...everything else is nothing but ignorant.

if lui is (especially in this case) spoken to i a constructional way then you have to accept that.

Ah and btw i guess there are enough rollerbladers out there in this world that would love to do lui's job.
I mean...getting free rollerblading dvds isn't the worst thing that could happen to you, hu?
;-)

@ david mcnamara: Englisch is not my first language, but I have now decided to let a native speaker check my reviews first which will hopefully improve your reading pleasure!

Yeah, i know exactly what david mcnamara means...i'm sharing his opinion.

maybe it should be time for be-mag to think about a new review-guy...

I have read quite a lot of reviews by Lui Summer. I appreciate that he is trying to give an insight into a video for people who are contemplating buying it, which is good intentioned. However, every review i have read has been plagued by spelling and typographical errors which is irritating to read, especially considering a spell check or grammar check function in microsoft word could easily eradicate this problem. If English is not your first language then i apologise for being so ignorant. If it is, then you really don't have any excuse other than being completely lazy.

Knowing my luck, there will be an error in my comment and i will get slaughtered for it... oh well.
