Deshi Barcelona Week Summary

The Deshi week came a bit out of no-where; it was an experiment to find a new way of working...usually tours are “every day a different city, a different bed.” But this time round we thought to try something new, working from a base, and where better than the now world-famous Barcelona?

The Deshi week came a bit out of no-where; it was an experiment to find a new way of working...usually tours are “every day a different city, a different bed.” But this time round we thought to try something new, working from a base, and where better than the now world-famous Barcelona?

Originally we were going to bring the whole team over, but due to rollerblading being about as moneyful as an empty box of dog turd, and despite the fact that an empty box of dog turd wouldn’t be empty if it had dog turd in it and therefore rendering the phrase idiotic, the budget was stretched to accommodate 3 riders and a photographer sleeping all over the place in my house.

Benny brought over his lass, and the first person to arrive on a tour always gets the first bed. That’s a useful thing to remember. The last person gets the worst spot, in this case Philipp Forstner who slept on my sofa with 4 cats and so in other words, Philip Forstner got a lot of pussy.

The daily plan was to get up early, go skate, shoot, film and then go party in the wonderful city of Barcelona.

Then we thought “if we party we wont get up early!!” so we didn’t party. Then we thought “If we don’t get up early we can party!!” so we didn’t get up early. Or party.

We travelled around the Barcelona outskirts, sometimes with one car, sometimes with two, and sometimes in the custom Deshi hovercraft, searching new spots. Infact we hardly skated any of the infamous Barcelona spots and discovered tons of new ones, and still ran out of time to skate all the obstacles we wanted too. Every day, at the end of the day, we would talk about all the spots we were going to come back to. By the end of the tour there was probably about 50 spots we wanted to go to that we weren’t able to find time for.

But we did get plenty of shots and video footage, almost all on fresh, unseen spots and you will all be able to see it soon.

I would tell you more, but just buy the next be-mag and see for yourself. After all, I don’t want to be repeating myself and I don’t want to be repeating myself…

Street on a daily basis, a bootload of CH1, great spots, great weather and great tricks. Coming soon to a be-mag publication soon.
