Tags: erik bailey, heat, san francisco, valo

Erik Bailey was so kind to answer a few questions for our "Behind the Scene"-article series. Read about his travel life and his future projects...

1) Erik, what have you been up to lately?

Traveling. Blading. Phillz coffee

2) It looks like you are back on the road with the Valo Tour in Europe and so on, or have you never been off the road in the last years?

Im always on the road

3) How are you dealing with all the travelling? Is it routine already or are you still excited like the first time if you are going somewhere?

Excited for sure. Its always a different experience.

4) You are still the LG World Champion, are you planning to keep that title in this year or do you wanna step back from skating so many comps?

I never really think about that stuff. Whatever happens, Happens. Whatever doesnt, doesnt.

Yeah, I was satisfied. Theres a new colorway about to drop

8) Are you still skating your model or are you on different Valos now?

Burgundy EBs

9) Any tours or plans for the near future you could tell us about?

I have been editing a bit and trying to get a new Apples film going.

No, I just wanted to go kick it Reno. Show them around a bit. Get My blade on

11) Are you already filming for the new Valo video or will the next one gonna take some time?

Im always filming for something. I guess I like to keep busy.

There are plenty of interesting, open-ended questions there, I agree with seanli that he could have made more effort to answer them! But Bailey is still The Man.

that is why photographers should do photos and not interviews...hahaha...

Valo riders give the worst interviews ever.

July 23rd, 2007 @ 09:35 - by BuggPowderNutz BuggPowderNutz

In all fairness, the questions that Eric was asked did not exactly lend themselves to long winded answers so i think it is slightly rude to claim that he was being "lazy."

He could have been asked:

What do you like to do in your free time in San Francisco?

Did you find it difficult to move from Reno to SF? If so, why?

What do you think you'll be doing once your career as a skater comes to an end?

Are you finding it difficult now that you are in the rollerblading limelight and everyone expects so much from you?

...

Asking Eric what skates he rides just BEGS for a one word answer because we all know what he skates. We see pictures of him every week online and new edits almost every week thanks to valo-brand.com....

This is not a bad interview but it could have been a lot better.

I hate these interviews that lack any kind of substance what so ever. I could have safely assumed all of these answers without reading any of these.

Erik - take more than two fucking seconds to answer the questions. It shows complete laziness and shows you lack any type of insight or personality.

I cannot really tell you the exact place...but if you are driving from Sacramento to Oregon on the highway to Bent, Oregon you will find a rest area where those rails are...there is even more stuff to skate over there...
