Report: Ignition Sausage Cup

Ignition is well know for, let’s say, “different stuff”. At this years Summerclash they proved that once again by holding the “Sausage Cup”. An event which is about eating sausages and drinking beer. Everybody can imagine that this is a bad composition as soon as it’s more than one of each. And sure, it was! But who cares, since the there where a lot of people interested in testing their limits in case of drinking and eating at the same time.

The competitors

For example we had Erik Bailey, Stephan De Freitas, Cosimo Tassone, Demetrious George, Cyril Daniel, Daniel Prell, Gagi Wagenblast, Gabriel Hyden and many more. Everybody ready to test their limits and for sure ready to impress people with their puking skills.

The rules where easy. Eat a sausga and drink a small beer. 2 minutes time to finish both. Sounds really easy now? Sure, but try it at home and see how short 2 minutes are in the 5th round for example. Round after round the competitors got in hectic arguments with their stomachs. Risemagazine and Be-Mag photographer Felix Strosetzki even started to throw up in the second round, which made Winterclash Amateur Champion Michi Leibner join him. A good highlight as well was the only female competitor from France. Can’t remember how many rounds she survived but she def. got the whole La Tole connection as support. Big ups for competing. She is the best example that throwing up can also be beautiful sometimes.

So… after some rounds all the big names where out. Gabriel Hyden tried to motivate himself by dipping his sausage in Daniel Prells puke, but even that didn’t work out so he had to leave as well. He got third place. Mellowpark Local (and professional drinker) “Dubai” got second. He was the last one throwing up and it even looked pretty cool with his sunglasses on while doing it. The winner of the first ever Ignition Sausage Cup is called “Fight Tank”. His real names is Daniel Stever, but I guess the nickname fits better. He was smiling all the time while eating and drinking and after the last round he already grabbed his next beer… it just tastes too good.

All in all, watching this event made me laugh out harder than everything else at this years Summerclash, but at the same time it was also one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever seen. Decide by yourself if you want to watch it next time. Its def. worth it!
