Most of you who do not come from Germany probably know Infernal – if they already know Infernal - from last year’s Rolling Advent calendar they did with us and many other supporters. As this year’s calendar is up and running plus the fact that they have now their first international teamrider is reason enough for us to let you know the most important facts about Infernal Clothing.
Be-Mag: Hi Jonas, first of all tell us the basics about your person and how you are involved with Infernal Clothing.
Jonas: I’m 23 and come from Nuremberg which is in the south of Germany. I have been rollerblading for more than 9 years, moreover I’m the owner of Infernal Clothing. Beside this I study electrical engineering at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg.

Be-Mag: So tell us more about Infernal Clothing.
Jonas: Infernal was established in 2001. At that time there was a lack of good rollerblading clothing for a fair price in Germany. So we started Infernal in order to put our ideas into action. We started with some basic shirts and hoodeds, but from the scratch with much love for our project and the unbroken will to make rollerblading more interesting for the people. We never wanted to stay a shirt-company so we started to produce jeans, jackets, boxers, ladies-stuff and so on. That’s the point we are right now. We work together with various artists and photographers in order to put on fresh ideas for each line.
Be-Mag: Who are your teamriders and why especially these persons?
Jonas: Our German team consists of 4 riders: Christoph Kachel, Patrick Piesik, Dario Soller and Lucas Landthaler. We wanted to bring some new faces up in the German scene. It would be easy to sponsor the few skaters who are on top of the German skate game (Don’t get me wrong I really like those guys!). But that’s not our aim, we want to invest in young guns, on their way to the top. We want to accompany them on their way and help them as good as we can.
Our first international rider is Tim Helbock from Austria. We are heading for more European riders in 2009 to complete our international team, so watch out.
Be-Mag: What’s the meaning of the word “Infernal” for you?
Jonas: The word Infernal has several meanings. The meaning for us comes from its Latin origin: “coming from the underground”. It connects closely to the way we see rollerblading. Rollerblading was never the cool mainstream-sport (also there was one big hype many years ago), it was always something special. You didn’t start rollerblading to be the coolest person on school, you did it because you just saw that it can be a lot of fun to hang out with your friends and go skating. You can just feel from the beginning that rollerblading and rollerbladers have a real strong connection among each other, as right now only people who really feel the sport are still here. So the word “Infernal” means that we are developing from this underground to show people how and why we love this sport so much and what it means to us.

Be-Mag: How did you come up with that “European Rolling Advent calendar”-project? Last year in November you asked us if we can do this project together and in December everything went with supporters like Ucon, The Conference, Ignition and Xwdskate.
Jonas: We just wanted to show, that rollerblading companies are here for one single reason: The dedication to our sport! If you want to make quick money the rolling scene isn’t the spot to be, there are lot of bigger communities out there with more money to spend. But today most rollerblading companies are even owned by rollerbladers who just love their sport and want to push it.
This year we have even more supporters, much love goes out to all of them! They were down with no hesitation in order to bring all European rollerbladers a nice Advent season (I have to apologize, that we cannot do a worldwide Advent calendar, but imagine how little your chance to win would be if there was one prize for worldwide participants.).
The Be-Mag site is just perfect for this project, as it is one of rollerblading’s each day set books and as you guys support rollerblading in each possible way we started this together.
So enjoy this year’s Advent calendar and good luck!
Christoph Kachel
Be-Mag: What are your goals for the future?
Jonas: Next step in 2009 will be new additions to our European team. Moreover we still have new fresh ideas we want to realize. Our main goal was and will be to support the sport we all love, this is what we do and ever will.
Dario Soller
Be-Mag: Thanks for providing an insight into your company!
