Party is a brand new German DVD filmed and edited by Mark Heuss. This certainly is not your average skate DVD. The video starts off with a pretty unusual intro. It shows how people are getting picked up for a skate session and it also shows the trip to the skate spot. After the intro there is the Alex Rudolf section. This section is not a rail, rail, rail, ledge, gap, rail section. It’s almost like a short film. Alex meets a giant rucksack which becomes his friend and he decides to carry it around. The tricks might not be top-notch, but I highly doubt that there are a lot of people out there that could do any tricks on a handrail with such a big rucksack on their back. So if you have been looking for something funny and different this might be what you like to see.

The next chapter is a documentary about Alex Schneider who is a professional photographer. Mark tried to capture Alex’s crazy life and so they travelled to snowboard shootings, motocross shootings, spent a few days in Berlin and much more. This part is the longest part of the whole DVD and shows almost no skating.
The Alex Schneider documentary is followed by a really nice skating montage section. It features a lot of Germany’s top skaters like Patrick Ridder, Chris Obermaier, Mathias von Gostomski, Phillip Preuss, Dominik Wagner and many others. After this section the movie is already over, only the outro is left. A lot of stupid actions, funny slams, breaking into skate spots and loads of other entertaining footage are what the outro consists of.
If you are disappointed by the lack of skating I advice you to check out the bonus sections. There are full profiles on Mathias von Gostomski, Chris Obermaier and Alex Rudolf. You will also find a good old-fashioned slam section, a montage section, the audio comment (only in German) and the outtakes.
All the footage on this DVD is high quality stuff and the same goes for the editing. This is a very good production and exceeds rollerblading media standards by far. If you are looking for something special get a copy of Party!
