Be-Roll #01 - 06/05/05
Welcome to the first issue of Be-Roll, Be-Mag's new videoblog format. We will now feature company profiles, contest reports, background reports and a lot more in this new format. Jeremy Stephenson, editor of Under Wraps, is bringing you this new format and it will be hosted by different skaters issue for issue. As time comes this format will also evolve, this means that we will add your option to add it to itunes, subscribe via rss and all your little technical gimmicks you can dream of.
Cameron Card hosts the very first videocast for Be-Mag. The first issue brings you the following content:
- Stygma edit Oli Bennet went deep into the headquarters at Powerslide and shows you so much you can only dream of nowadays. This is not only a tribute to Stygma but also to skating in general as you can see gear from way back in the day.
- Winterclash edit The Winterclash was one of the biggest contests and they are about to release a DVD. Guess what, we got another edit giving you a teaser for the DVD.
- Be-Mag DVD The Under Wraps DVD is out now! So see the hottest skating from the DVD
- Vicious photo shooting Vicious went out for a photo shooting and filming action with their team. Jan Welch used a Super 8 camera to film most of this and brings you the hottest skating from the Vicious team and they report about their future development and all what is up in San Diego.
Download as .mp4 / .wmv

A little background info on the topic and how we came up with the idea: Several years ago we tried to bring you a monthly news format in videoform. Back then the editor of our first video, Riley, was in charge of this. He had this crazy news setup and was talking about all the latest jazz and showed some crazy skating. We always thought that this was a great idea, but with limited ressources and the whole work on print and other projects this quietly went away. So we are proud to announce that we will bring back this videocontent in a strong new format.

sick!
Hahah good job guys! I couldn’t read any of text shown tho’ :/
ALSO I need to know what songs are used in the very beginning and in the very end of the movie! I think it is the same voice. Sounds like a blues/jazz singer or something like that! We tried to recognize some words but eheh too hard for no-native english speakers huh :)
PLEASE help me out!!!
ROCK ON!
I liked it, Cameron did a good job…..even if it took him a million trys to get it right.
haha! awesome! cds detroit!
well know i know. I like we’er yall are headed.
SICK
cant wait for the next one
Less techno, a host that takes himself a bit more seriously, and actual super 8 film rather than a horrible super 8 edging covering over video footage would make this show a bit better. It seems like you threw it together too quickly, and with more time and determination, you could’ve put together a much more solid episode. I found myself skipping through most of it, but it’s a start.
well if you are comfortable with a bigger download, then we will offer one bigger download too. just need to keep careful because of bandwidth issues, as you can imagine this causes quite some traffic.
oh no not shorter, it was really nice!! i have no problem to download a 100 mb file.
we’ll work on the quality, but with 15 minutes it was a bit difficult to get the quality up due to file size. the next issue will be probably a bit shorter, hence we will up the quality. we will offer some more formats probably too.
i want too see in the next one behind the scenes like usd, kizer, razors or ucon
BE-MAG FUCKING PWNS ALL!!! Think we should be able to vote who does the next one!
the quality sucked! – really, the quality sucked bad!
oh, and just one more thing:
– cameron card is a great host/commentator/entertainer/rollerblader/and probably snowboarder.my 2 cents:
– the quality sucked! – really, the quality sucked bad! – could someone give me the address of that conference warehouse? – be-mags under wraps looks awesome! that`s the first thing i`m going to steal from the conference warehouse. – i`m glad i got crap bearings… – nick wood IS on crack! – i guess cameron card rolls valos now? – could someone, anyone, everyone post a edit of cameron`s snowboarding? i heard he sucks at it…love, toe-bee
ha ha great
yeah fuck daily bread !!
they’ll be out of buisness pretty soon cuz they cant come up with shit like that !!
Nick Wood is on crack! haha,I was a bit lost on what the offroad skating was about.Personally I’d like to see some proper erm..street style off-road skating!
I agree with the quality & the text on the screen comments.Would have like to been able to identify the skate stuff in the warehouse.
Looking forward to the following issues…
What Adrian said + I found it very hard to read the text on the stygma bit – so slightly better quality would be good.
make it better quality
rss and all the little technical gimmicks will be added for the next issue, just working on it! just post your feedback here and we will keep this in mind for the next release!
Right on Be-Mag! It’s great another rollerblading podcast is in the making. Can’t wait to see it on iTunes. Though for now you shouldn’t REALLY call it a podcast. Without a syndication model (No RSS = No Podcast) it’s a just a download.
sick sick sick !!!
I LOVE BE-MAG
