Grindhouse Tour - Paris - 06/08/14

This year our team went to Paris once again in order to skate with the locals and have a great time. It began on Thursday in Munich by rental car, we went to Stuttgart and nearly missed our flight because of weird traffic on the way. At the airport they had to take away the tripods of our bags and we nearly didn’t get them back when we arrived in CDG. But the force was with us and so we got all our stuff, went to our 10 square meter room (for 4 guys) in „gâre de lyon“. As our room was too small for us we decided to get some food and go rolling afterwards. So there was a nice night session on the ledges next to the metro.

After a long walk to Bercy and other spots around, we had some beers + A-Team stories on Daniel´s IPod and all fell into our beds to sleep.

The next day I decided to get up really early to do some sightseeing (I was the fifth time in Paris and never did something like this) so I was walking around some hours and met with Bruno Loewe and Wilfried Rossignol at the Artysm shop to have some beers again and watch „les bleues“ win against ........Party!!! Mathias Silhan and Etienne from Paris had a really hard night as it seemed – they were blue and Edding black all over the next day when they came to the first spot on our tour – Bercy!

The team arrived too early as nobody was there we got us some food and left the flowriders Maik Lojewski and Moely at the spot to do some Savannahs and Backslides etc....

Then we went to the Skatepark next to Bercy to session with the kiddies in this really funny park (all pics are on the www.Grindhouse.de Tourpage). Daniel Prell and Mathias Silhan showed everybody some nice park skating the pyraledge up and down, doing easy spin transfers and a lot more stuff!

We grabbed some locals there and left for „place d´italy“ to skate the bank and railstuff..... Mathias and Prell did Royal2AoTopsoul, AoTopacid and many more hard tricks, Bruno did a nice fulltorque 360 into the bank and we all had really much fun until Mathias knocked out a Lady passing by........afterwards everybody was a little bit down and so we decided to go to Aktarus Place and have a skatesession & BBQ there.

Unfortunately we split up in the Metro and lost half of the team – they went street skating then – while I went to the Park with Bruno, Etienne and Mathias.

On the way we had some Pizza and watched the German Team win once again in the World Championships – they really rock this year!!!!

Back to Topic J So Warren picked us up at the Pizzaspot and brought us into the Park, some beers later Bruno and Mathias had a good Funboxsession on the run for me but as one of the local skaters kicked DOUBLEBACKFLIP over the box everybody felt like – ok I need more beer! So the show was open for Aktarus to grind the Wallride in his skatepark. For those who don´t know what I am talking about – Aktaurs has a Wallride which is about 6 meters high and there he did Topsoul, Topacid, Backroyal and then tried some BS Fastslides for the Camera. After this point I had my 5 Gig CF full and we decided to go to Aktatrus Place to get us some food and Champaign.

After a little BBQ Session we wanted to go back to Paris but Warren told us it is impossible as they will rob us in the train for sure so we got comfortable in Aktaurs house and had fun until four in the morning............

Damn I have a headache was the first thing I thought In the evening Warren and Aktarus picked us up to show some covered spots, so we skated a round curb some hours and then they brought us to a very ugly kinkrail next to the trainstation. Nobody wanted to skate it as there were way to many people passing by! So Daniel said I do it and busted it second try.....You ask yourselves why you don´t see any picture of the spot? As Daniel jumped on the rail some sort of junkie came and grabbed the rail to walk upstairs!! I was running to him and shouting to get out of there as Daniel just grinded in the guys direction and jumped over him downstairs. So he did it and I have no damn picture of that shit!!!

Well no problem spot change without picture and it is raining. So we wanted to skate some more covered spot but we found none and Aktarus showed us a nice place to eat crêpes before we headed direction hotel to get chill there and get some sleep.

Paris is a very nice city if you know the spots and locals who can help you, I enjoyed it a lot as everybody was cool to us and helped us a lot.
