The 11th Annual Hoedown - 07/11/08
The 11th annual Hoedown just got wrapped up at Eisenbergs skatepark in Dallas Texas this last weekend. Once again the contest lived up to it's reputation, and collected some of the best skaters from all over the globe. Hundreds of kids showed up to watch, and filled up the park to the point that most of the contest went down on a select few obstacles. In one weekend they hosted a lock-in, a tradeshow, a rusted guns contest, young guns, and pro contest.
 The Hoedown winners
In the pro division, Jeff Stockwell took 5th place for shredding the park and doing seamless lines in his trademarked style. Chaz Sands from Scotland came in 4th, after an arsenal of tricks on a hurt knee. Soichiro Kanashima flew over from Japan and claimed 3rd place, landing his fakee 450 mizu on the high box at the end of the contest. Erik Bailey, like the others, did too many tricks to name, but his True Fishbrain to forward on the high ledge was one of the best in the contest. Chris Haffey held his contest-winning momentum, and pulled out the Michael Jordan Jersey for another first place victory. He was sailing around the coarse doing some of the biggest and hardest tricks only he could attempt. Highlights include launching over the highwall into the mini, and a huge disaster soul on the head-high ledge from the launchbox. The Con-Artist best trick went to Billy Oniel for his Alyooptopsoul on the box, transfer to soul on the rail.
Huge props to Arlo and Eisenbergs Skatepark for another annual success.
