In The Know: Adam Killgore - 08/05/14

LordBrian IBI : How was the transition going from being a Denial Team Rider to bringing the company back and becoming the head honco in charge? What were some of the challenges that you faced and how did you overcome them to once again bring Denial to the top?

It wasn't that hard going from rider to helping run the whole operation. I took a little break from the scene, always skated but just took a lil break and when i came back it was pretty much dead. I always will feel denial is the best since day 1. so i felt it needed to be back and plenty of kids felt the same so i started making it happen. The challenges always are there. It was really rough getting the shops to understand Denial was back and the whole situation with why it left.. but is here to stay and i thank you all for your support!

Drew_Amato: If Penns landing was destroyed, would you stop skating?

Hell nah.. There will always be skateparks.

Starscream: How many joints did you smoke on the pipe?

None I don’t smoke joints, but I smoked a lot of blunts in Germany I know that much. haha

Denialchild45: What would be your suggestions for other companies to better the products/team members/ and industry as a whole?

Just give the riders their rightful royalty. If i can give them $2 per T-shirt then a skate company should be able to give them $10 per skate. The profit margin on skates is way higher... and they’re selling more units.

James Short: Adam, how far can you toe roll? And do you enjoy the creative/ improve side of rollerblading as opposed to the huck yourself or switchup styles?

I can't toe roll at all actually. Or heal roll. They were never my thing... but i do enjoy the creative/improv side of skating alot more then the hammers and switchups. I don’t know why but you can use your mind and do different things when you get into the improve side of things.

Tra: what is your opinion on the state of the Philly scene right now?

City of brotherly love.. we are family. What families don’t have their problems and fights.. but at the end of the day these are my brothers forever and we'll always be boys and skate. The new guys coming for school and such are only making the scene that much more diverse and its allowing the city to get back to takeover status.

Adam Killgore - That Grab

Justin Kilcher: How awesome was it when everyone on the Sequence Mag board hated on you for like 3 months non-stop?

Awesome... That was when i first started getting in videos and exposure and the haters are what kept me going. Need haters....still got haters. People will always be jealous.

ChrisNG: What inspired the video PARK? Can we expect any similar projects in the future?

PARK was an idea we thought up because I love park and so does Majette. We both travel a lot and when we travel we always skate parks during events. so there is always park footage... and all of our friends who we meet up with at events or come visit or we go visit..skate park very very well... so we figured capture the moments and offer the real deal park skating to the masses. If you think about it ALOT of people skate park...some more then street just cuz you never get kicked out. So everyone can relate to it and appreciate it...even if they don’t skate park daily. Yes there will be more to come..PARK2 xmas 08. everyone email me to contribute footage!

i am neo: Do you think you deserve an "In The Know?"

Nah but obviously someone does.. and lots of kids got questions they want to be answered...

Honni: How dope is Wisconsin?

Mad dope... skating is fun and the people are all dope as hell.

Adam Killgore - Zero Pornstar

Taylor Popham: are you planning on doing any denial tours this summer?

yeah we will be traveling a lot this summer... first down to Superhick, then Cayman Islands again, then up north to Boston area. Lots of lil contests and other events as well... Make sure to check the blog for events we'll be sponsoring and attending.

Feed the homeless: Your thoughts on the New York scene.

Amazing. Its the birthplace. I’ve always skated and loved NYC I’ve been coming to Manhattan since i was 13 yrs old skating with Jon Ortiz and Ron Hunter and Ray Mendez and Ariel Surun and Joe Dedentro and those cats. Manhattan is my favourite place to roll around. I don’t know why but NYC always brings out good times. And I got alot of good friends up there. shout out to Ramelle and the whole Bunique/Dipskate squad. Keep doing your thing homie.

Mikey Peluso: If you had to give up Marve or weed, who/what would it be?

Weedlings of course Murph is my homie for lifeeeee...

dre: Why is the best cheese steak joint located in California?

No such thing as a good cheese steak in California......so i cant answer this haha.

Adam Killgore - Stall

Doug Williams: Will you please explain the difficult aspects of running a rollerblade clothing company on top of also having a streetwear clothing company.... In other words, let these kids know how stressful running shit is, haha?

DUB CAESAR isn’t street wear. Its just clothing. Hip-hop influenced and that’s about it. I don’t label it street wear we aren’t hipster like the others... its just clothing. But it’s stressful as shit... it’s double the work. I do everything for Denial then have to do it all for Dub. Call different shops and take different pics. Make different look books and different order forms then send them all out to shops and fill the orders. It’s hectic. Then I always try to contact the team and see how they are as well. I got love for my team they believe in what I’m doing and i thank them for their 100% support. It’s not easy... but its better then working for someone else.

Dafick: Have you ever seen Alf naked?

nah.

Mikey P: What Alf phrase is your personal favourite?

-Incredible
-Impeccable
-Unbelievable
-Boom
-Roasted
-Toasted
-So good
-Other: specify

Incredible

Avichai: How good is a Philly cheese steak? Also; if you had a few million dollars, what are the first things you would do?

Cheesesteaks are incredible.....and if I had a FEW million I would first make the best skatepark ever...and have it be mad cheap just enough to keep it open I don’t need profit from it. Then I would start a skate company and pay riders correct...like Nimh does.

Diet Kyle: What's next for Adam Killgore?

Not sure really. I got a lot of ideas and things popping in and out of my head and there are projects being worked on and planned out... but nothing is definite yet once I know ill announce to all. I promise

Dennis: Will you call the next time you come to Amsterdam?

I was not to drunk or high I promise!! I don’t have a phone that works and Majettes stopped working for some reason… So we were fucked and we looked for you. Next time I plan on staying with the locals so we'll be chilling the whole time!!

Adam Killgore - That Grab

Flea: Will you put the phrase "Know Homo" on a shirt anytime soon?

Only if I can put KNOW FLEA right after it....

Jason Reyna: How was that jay z concert? Oh and tell us about your bling/ice/frosty/rings/watch/chains (or whatever you guys are calling it these days).

Jay-z was incredible... Me and Mac went and got tickets the day of....floor seats. it was a very good show. Jay-z always is a good show to see. My diamonds and gold are investments. I got 2 watches and 2 bracelets, couple rings as well. Gold goes up in value and since I’ve bought them they've almost doubled. I like watches a lot though!

cazzy: Adam in the most recent Denial team video you had everyone on the "Pro Team" have full sections.... with the except from Chris Cheshire, what I would like to know is why was he not given one.....???

The riders who had sections were not all PRO TEAM they were the TEAM. Chesh was offered and would of gotten paid but he had a lot of school work and such so he couldn’t get enough clips. I tried but he didn’t have time I guess...I wish he did he’s always gonna be one of my favourites but school fucks with his skating and his focus isn’t 100%. I hope he'll be back 100 soon though...

Tom Pierce: I heard you can't true front farf boxes, is this true?

Hell no you heard that at Neglectedtruth.com too and I did it in your face 2nd try....270 out too. hahaha

jesses modern life: Is it true you got whacked off with icy hot by two hot gymnasts at Woodward?

Long story... but NOPE. Basically I was getting with 2 girls they were in the same cabin. I was like 17 and my older friend was getting with their counsler. So their counsler told me they found out and were planning on doing that... so I went along with it...and Friday came along. They both tried to get me to go somewhere with them but I told them I couldn’t leave my friend so one of them had to get with him cuz I didn’t want both of them...knowing they were trying that. So... we went under lot 8 bowl and we were getting domed out back to back... it was dark but not dark enough I saw the chick pass the icy hot from her purse to the girl sucking me off... I busted in her mouth... grabbed her hand and said... "I knew this was coming all week..." put my dick in my pants and left them under there pissed off cleaning my children off their chin.

zacharis: Pat's or Geno's?

neither... Jims Steaks on 4th and south

daveeee: Who has bigger balls....you or me? And why is that frozen pizza (I think its tinos or some shit) so cheap and good from pathmark?

I got bigger balls of course... and its ELLIOS pizza...its so cheap and good cuz we're always fucked up eating it. haha

aaron peterson: Do people in Philly ever skate new spots?

Of course all the time... but Philly really isn’t that big. If you’re never been here you'll see when you come. The city really isn’t that big....so we play with that we got.

dan barnes: What's Jimmy Shuda, Mike Elias and Jeff Frederick up to nowadays?

Shuda works full time and is going back to school he’s been rolling a lil again. He was at the box jam. He has a good job though so he’s chilling.
Elias moved out to Oregon and is doing his thing. He’s working and riding his bike and playing music. And skating sometimes.
Frederick is managing an art gallery in the city. He’s doing good and always talks shit bout skating... but he won’t.

Adam Killgore - Topside Torquesoul

diet kyle: What are your feeling towards college and forms of higher learning? What would you consider higher learning? Cool

I feel college is for those who need it. For the most part it’s just a business. Surgeons and engineers and such need college of course... but not everyone. Don’t be forced to go to college... Higher learning to me is travelling and living thru different experiences. I’ve learned more travelling for skating then any classroom can offer. So i believe college isn’t needed for everything. it depends what you want to do with your life.

Lui Summer: Are you doing everything on your own or do you have some people that help you. Who are they and what are they doing?

Nah I don’t do it all on my own. Majette helps a lot with everything and Robert Lievanos helps with the logos. Jon Jon will help with anything we need when he’s available... same with any of the team. Eric Schrijn came over with a broken ankle to help print T's and film and do whatever needed to be done. Its family over here...

Lui Summer: For how long have you been rollerblading and what was you most memorable moment?

I've been skating since 3rd grade so about 15 or so years. My most memorable moment was sitting on the vert ramp at 2000 ASA world finals and when they announced my name Dave Paine came up and was maddddd juiced. This was when I first met and knew him very little and ive looked up to him since my 1st year at Woodward so for an icon and inspiration to be so juiced and excited for me to have made it... made me even more happy. and he was already on the phone with Majette telling him before I could which was even tighter. I miss you DAP.. come back and chill with us... we all miss you!!

Lui Summer: Which of your riders do you pay and how do you manage to pay them if most wheels companies can't even pay their riders?

We don’t pay any of our riders monthly. We offer then ridiculous royalty percentages and money for sections in the team videos to make up for it. When I make something with their name they get paid from it. I'm not making money off anyone without them making money as well. Business is business and i hate when companies try to use names without paying. These skaters deserve that’s theirs and their name is what sells that product.
