IMYTA report: final spot - Monday, September 25, 2006 at 23:10 - By Grand
At the final spot things went really crazy. Before the battle started Tim Parker from Rolling Edits got hit by a bottle, faded and fell into the stairs . The ambulance took him to the hospital. Best recover wishes here from our side. We just got word that Tim is fine, he fractured something in his hear, got bruises, but he will be rocking again very soon.
But the actual battle was too sick. Erik Bailey laced trick by trick at the beginning first try and also the rest of the finalists busted out really hard. After some time Nick Lomax just laced trick by trick and got more and more crazy. Tricks like 270 BS Backslide to Sweaty or to Budget Acid are more than tough on such a droprail. At the end he even tried a 450 BS Backslide but couldn’t land it. Benny was up for his trick from the beginning and I have honestly have to say that I would never thought that this would be possible. Makio to Topsoul transfer over 2-3 Meters is just crazy. Everyone who knows the spot know what I am talking about. For the rest, check the Be-mag Cover with Gumbys fastslide. During his tries the crowd got crazy and were screaming allmost all the time. It got really crazy when Brain Shima tried a huge 540 Gap, which were introduced with “Shima, Shima, Shima…” hyms. Too bad he couldn’t land that huge gap. Also Avichai and Jara tried them with either 180’s or 540’s but couldn’t handle too. After a time Benny actually landed his trick and at this point it was clear that the IMYTA was over. Due the fact that Nick also busted out bad ass, the organisation decided to split the title, which was fair for both.
Congrats to both winners who are splitting the price money of 2500 .
The afterparty was as expected. Beer, drinks, strippers, weed and dutch hooligans. If you wanna know what was going on at the party, just come there the next time…hopefully we’ll see all you there next year.

IMYTA is over - Benny Harmanus and Nick Lomax taking the title... - Sunday, September 24, 2006 at 22:15 - By toxboe
The IMYTA is done. The contest is over and only one thing is missing at the IMYTA Plus weekend. The afterparty!!! It just started and we are leaving now to the party…
The IMYTA itself was crazy and some people even sad it was the craziest one ever. The skating level was really high and some shit went down. Tomorow and in the next day you gonna see clips, photos and so on here on Be-mag.com and there also gonna be an article in the Be-mag Issue 21.
Chris Haffey and Andreas “Gagi” Wagenblast got hurt really bad and had to go to the hospital to get their hand stiched. Gagi ripped out a piece of his small finger and Haffey also ripped out something of his hand. But both are fine again if I got the right informations. Also Tim Parker from Rolling Revival fall down into stairs after he got hit from a bottle. The ambulance took him to the hospital…he was definitely in not a good shape. We wish the best for all the people who got actually hurt.
The final went down in a open session between Shima, Erik Bailey, Billy “Fish” O’neil, Avichai, Leonov, Nick Lomax, Adil, Benny Harmanus, Jacub Juul, Jara and a few others. Chaz Sands and Haffey also maid it into the finals, but couldn’t skate it. Shima tried to do a huge 540 3 times after the whole crowd was screaming “Shima, Shima, Shima…” all the time, but couldn’t land it. Probably too huge. Erik Bailey destroyed the rail at the beginning, as Billy and everyone else did. But Nick Lomex just destroyed everything with unbelievable tricks like 270 BS Backslide to Sweaty and 270 BS Backslide to Budget Acid, just to name a few. Avichai also tried everything to get the title as everyone else. And hammers were thrown like what. But Nick always got an answer. At the end Benny landed his trick. A makio stall to Topsoul transfer – which is just unbelievable and even not possible. Nobody knows how he actually could land that trick. So after that trick the 2 winners were announced – a fair end…
And now, I have to leave because the party is waiting…stay tuned for the updates in the next days…
