10 years is a milestone for any rollerblading event only a few around the world have made it so far. From its birth in1999 at Rampworx Skatepark in Liverpool this year SlammJamm will reach this milestone. The SlammJamm is the longest running UK Rollerblading event to-date. This year will see “The Gathering” become bigger and better than ever before.
The event has always been about encouraging, promoting and developing the rollerblade community within the UK. In doing so creating an annual gathering which has seen its fair share of amazing rollerblading over its years, from the UK and worldwide visitors.
Over the 17th & 18th OCT 2008 we will see the birth of some new additions to the event: the ONE… Battle Royale; the Rolling Art & Tradeshow; and the UK Amateur Kings Own Final. The ONE Battle Royale will see some of the Worlds best rollerbladers battle it out for the £3500 prize purse and the title of the ONE. The Rolling Art & Tradeshow will play host over the event to some of the best brands & visual artists (such as B.Unique, Ukskate, Klingatron & The Oracle) that we have in the rolling community. The Kings Own will focus on the raw un-sponsored talent within the UK rewarding the winner a £500 travel budget and a 12mth flow deal with B.Unique clothing & Rampworx Skatepark. These new additions sit along side the already established King & Queen of the Slamm (Best Male & Female roller of the event) Best Trick (this year holds a £1000 purse) & People’s Choice award. This makes SlammJamm even more of reason to travel to Rampworx Skatepark (www.rampworx.com) this year and be part of the tenth session.
