It is Saturday August 27th in New Philadelphia, Ohio at our local skatepark that James loved so much. James devoted most of his life to blading and the blading community. In August of 2009, at age 24, James was hit and killed by a drunk driver while he was on his motorcycle. James had friends all over the U.S. and was always promoting skating everywhere he traveled.
Once a year we come together to remember James and honor the things he loved in life: skating and music. We hope everyone who can attend will join us for a lot of skating, music, great food, raffles, prize tosses, and fun! We also feature Best Trick, Best Toe Roll, and Best Cess Slide contests with cash prizes, hosted by Ben Schwab.
All proceeds from this event go to the James Short Memorial Fund which helps fund local charities in James' memory.
