The First KY Battle was Louisville vs. Lexington in rollerblading and partying to the fullest, and now 9 years later has evolved to a full on party with an awesome contest surrounding it, haha. The KY Battle was started by a bunch of shit talking online back and forth between Andy B from Louisville, Josh Ganz and Doug Williams, me, and is now continuing to be carried out for the 9th year, so CHEERS!!! . I will have all new spots along with Lexington’s favorite ones and also later that night I have a mind blowing after party planned for you guys thanks Nate FX and everyone at Lower 48. Pretty good considering I just got back from a 5 dayer in SF, and I'm now sitting at work. Still healing from a broken ankle, it's been 4, going on 5 months since I was last able to skate. Shouldn't be too much longer (I hope). I might have to make it out for the event. Sounds like a good time.

I couldn’t really get around to doing much, I really can’t stop crying. James Short was that good friend that everyone needed in their life. He hit by a drunk driver riding his bike 5 days ago, and we lost him this morning. I was friends with James forever, he always randomly popped and killed any manual pad in site. He was a damn good friend.
He wasn’t one to critic anything about someone’s skating, he just skated with them.
If you were skating a spot at a contest, he was the guy skating the curb, and having more fun than the guy who won. I will miss that about him, and how he wrecked it on guitar.This year the KY Battle this weekend Sept 5th, I will be taking donations to send his parents. We will also be giving away the James Short outside of the Box award to a very lucky individual. Anyone who was ever graced with James presence was a lucky individual, may I add. I hope everyone takes this into consideration, we all lost a really good friend to bullshit. Shit, I even have done myself in the past, and I damn sure am not proud of it. So, please be aware of others on the road, and be responsible, because no one needs pain in their hearts like we do right now.

I will miss you buddy…

We all just lost a really good friend, James Short, to drunk driving over the past week. So, in his honor I am going to do the responsible thing, I known this year's theme is CHEERS!! You know drinking and having fun. Being in the place where everybody knows you're name. I mean it's all in good times, but everyone please be responsible don't drink and drive I have talked to some local cab drivers and at the KY Battle 09 After Party there will be cabs at a discounted rate. So, please drink responsibly, have as much fun as you want, but please don't drink and drive. I can't say have broken the rule before, but with age comes responsibility. I have learned from my mistakes. I am just urging everyone to do the right thing.
