this is my friend's third gen FD Mazda RX7. he purchased the vehicle a few years back with the 13b rotary motor still under the hood and in perfect running condition. not even a year after the initial investment, he swapped out the 1.3 liter rotary for a 5.7 liter V8 Chevrolet LS6 crate motor(Corvette Z06's powerplant). he had plans for the turbo build before the motor was even out of the crate. in the past eight months he's pieced every bit of this monsterous single turbo set up with his on two hands. he also designed and fabricated the headers along with the turbo merge and manifold. installed the Ford 8.8 rear end, fabricated the four point roll cage then completely reinforced the dog house with two inch carbon/steel tubing. this project was perfectly planned and executed with zero mistakes. all she needs is a tune... he hopes to start out at 600-630 hp on 20 lbs of boost. i have a chubby just thinking about riding in the passenger seat. epic domestic/import turbo build is epic.

hah, don't be sorry. your opinion doesn't make any difference of how fucking insanely talented this kid is. i was just making it clear that he fab'd the majority of the turbo kit.

fuck the haters that think they HAVE to put in their retarded opinions in every single thread on here.

hate on.

oh and thank you to the people that actually had something good to contribute to my thread.

thats sick. i hope some day i can do work like that for my own car instead of what i do now. fuckin flat broke fixing the stupidest shit that goes wrong on a daily basis. today i had to fix my driver side window for the 6th time because the motor is a piece of shit, and i cant afford the $63 replacement.

very impressive. ive seen a few of the s2ki guys trying to stuff an LS1 into an s2k and often wondered how much of a death trap that would be. this seems to be a step beyond that. looks like excellent work too. be sure to post the dyno sheets and vids once it gets a tune.

yeah dude, being able to fix anything that goes wrong with your car and/or totally customizing a turbo kit saves you endless amounts of money and gives you extraordinary peace of mind.

he's also a mechanical engineering major at the university of cincinnati and is an engineer co-op at duke energy. he graduates in 2010... he obviously already has ungodly amounts of loot, but once he's settled into a career in his major i know for a fact he has more mind boggling projects he will be following through with.

What kind of HP is he looking to make in the end? Because 600 would have been easy to do n/a

he hopes to be in the 800-900 hp range as soon as all the internals are ready for it. he's going to put a bottle in it also.

i've been trying to talk him into doing a 2JZ-GTE swap on his honda s2k... he just doesn't seem too interested. i understand why though, because i'm a huge fan of naturally aspirated honda's.

and keep it N/A. it's nuckin futs how a little 1.8 liter motor makes 200 hp bone stock.
