I am pleased to announce that the box is in transit and being returned to us. How someone can steal from an industry as small as ours is beyond me, but as it turns out a guilty conscience can be a powerful thing.

This is not meant to be a call out as much as it might seem, but rather a warning for future contests and association with this individual. The be-magger francoshad ended up with the box and when called out he initially denied it, then called back the next day with a flimsy story about why he had it and agreed to send it back.

Like I said, I'm not trying to directly blast him on be-mag but I feel it should be known that this individual has a problem and everyone should be weary when within a close proximity to him. SDSF forgives francoshad as resentment is not healthy, but we do feel it should be known who the culprit was and to be aware of his actions.

Now you know the back-story of why this guy ended up at my house in Encinitas just this past week. I thought everyone was just talking shit because he had no social boundaries and talked excessively much. I knew he had some kind of disability and since I work with kids that have bipolar and shit I thought I could handle him so I allowed it to happen. WOW, as soon as the guy got in my car I knew I would regret letting him stay at my place. Whatever, though I was not going to let this dude get to me.
Fuck then he just wouldn't skate like at all...I thought he would be juiced to be in SD but all he wanted to do was talk about skating and name drop and get food or water...I thought to myself a fucking rollerblading socialite t-dog that is 25 and he doesn't even really rollerblade this does not make any sense and I have a degree in psychology so I know disorders pretty well. Ok so he does not really skate whatever he is probably just nervous or something but it does not stop there.
He was trying to stay at the same hotel that everyone at Razors was staying at and or Chaz's place in mission beach. I am thinking all right cool so he just needed a ride from the airport and he is not going to need to stay at my place. WRONG...He wondered off, went into a random room, and brought out some friend this am razor I was like all right whatever let us go skate and head back to Encinitas. WRONG AGAIN. Let us drop off the razor guy and Franco magically finds other people at Razors to hang out with right before I want to leave to go home. He finds some people that are partying and starts talking to them, I have to say I was impressed because they were all really nice to him considering how much he was being a T-dog.
Ok so back to the stealing. So during sdsf open I wanted to skate then some shit happened and I had to help a friend out with this cut on his finger so he needed my keys...Then I leave and go sit back down and Franco asks for my keys because, "he found Dre and wants to get Edwins skates and put them in my car". Unfortunately my car is a fucking mess and he probably hid the box easily cause of all the shit in my car not to mention camera bags and other skates. However, he was acting kind weird when we were moving around his bags to make more room. He said he had “valuable goods in there and to be careful with his shit”. I told him that we needed to make room. There was nothing that would stop me from moving his shit to fit other people’s bags. He reluctantly moved aside then a friend of mine from SD helped me out so fucking much I need to buy him a 24 pack. He took let Franco drive in his car and he even drove him to the airport so I didn’t have to worry about it because we were trying to get lots of skating in.
Then all this happened and I swear he called me and asked me to talk with him but I knew what it was about so I didn’t answer.
Franco is an anxious and two-faced dude. He is medicated and he said he sees a psychologist and knows that he has a disorder. However, I don’t know if he realizes how much it affects him and others around him.
I tried to help him out by giving him some ideas and even some books that I had on different disorders because I know he has at least some ADHD maybe some OCD and maybe even a personality disorder.
I feel bad for the guy because he really needs a lot more help than he is getting along with a different sport to pursue that he can focus on and be good at.
Then the rollerblader in me knows that he just stole from Jon Julio and SDSF, which is unacceptable, and he deserves nothing but shit and more shit and then a complete exile from rollerblading and anything associated with rollerblading. I mean to steal from people and then deny it instead of owning up to what you did is bullshit. I don’t care if he did it on accident that shit was in my car and that pisses me off. Just to explain myself further because I knew people were not going to understand my writing at 1am in the morning. I identify with Franco because he has similar issues that I once had not really in rollerblading but through high school and what not. Mental disabilities that affect the way a person controls impulsive behavior or anxiety are not anything to be talked about with condescension. However, Franco realizes he has these issues and chooses not to deal with them or does not have the ability to deal with them because he has not taken an active role in helping himself. Anxiety is a bitch it strangles you until you feel like you are going to die. Sometimes you want to do the right thing but it turns out to be the wrong thing. You want to say the right thing but shit comes out of your mouth because you are not capable of expressing yourself constructively and confidently. That being said I have sympathy for the guy because I kind of understand where he is coming from and I work with kids that have similar issues.
Ok then my contradiction that is because I am a rollerblader and have been for about 15 years. I think taking things from the industry, causing people to stress, talking to pro rollerbladers and pretending they are your friends, imposing on people in order to get what you want, and on top of that not even really ever skating is unacceptable and should not be tolerated. It is one thing to be kind of awkward and socially lost it is another to manipulate people to get something in return whether it is a place to stay or products or whatever. You have to understand that I had faith in the guy and thought he was going to be able to just have a good time and not impose on me or the other people I had staying at my place. I was really hoping that he was going to skate and just have fun. I was frustrated that weekend because I had friends staying with me that were much more deserving of a place to stay because I know they are good people.
I can have to opposing opinions within myself. I can feel sympathy for someone for his or her disability but not approve of his or her behavior. It is hard to see where the disability begins and ends. Sometimes people blame their disability for everything that happens. I feel like if you are medicated and taking an active role in trying to change your behavior that the disability is usually lessened and sometimes compensated for. Then there is something called learned helplessness where you want everyone to feel sorry for you and you manipulate the situation to your advantage and gain whatever it is that you feel you want or need.
So yeah I have sympathy and empathy for him as a person but I also feel if he stole from SDSF and Them GOODS that he should be treated as a criminal because it is a criminal act to steal anything let alone rollerblading stuff. He says that some kid gave it to him and that now that Matt has it everything is cool. Well that’s not the world works if you steal or are accused of stealing you better come clean and explain him self to all that have been affected. I told him to do so and he felt it was not worth it because nobody understands him and people just always talk shit. Well I told him the right thing to do and I think you would all agree that just giving back the box to Matt is enough. He needs to apologize and own up to his actions or he needs to explain exactly what happened.
