View Full Version : A few questions about Element frames

I became interested in these because one of my friends got them and he loves them. He's not the best at skating (he only skates every other month or so) but he still got used to skating flat with them on the first session, after skating freestyle for years.

Does anybody know if Kizer is going to continue making these? Or are they phasing them out now that they've released the Slimlines? If they're going to keep making them, does anybody know if they have any plans to make a medium size (a small is too short and a large is too long for my size 9 skates)? Also, I believe that certain models are lower, such as the Jeph Howard ones. Which of the currently available models are the tall ones and which are the low ones? I also remember reading here that some of the early models had issues with the axle bolts. Have all of the currently available models had this fixed?

I doubt they will be discontinued, they sell fairly well.

A middle size, however, I doubt will happen. I don't think they sell that well, haha. The Element wheelbases are the same as most Kizers from what I remember, a Small is ~245mm, Large is ~270mm.

The green Howards and the gold/white Bennys are the only lower ones to be released so far, I believe.

You want the steel bolts, not aluminum. I believe the only model that had aluminum was the blue & white one from the Kelso skate, the silver/black team version and after had the steel axles.

Al to the rescue! I didn't expect to get an answer this quickly. Now I need to figure out if spending $170 on frames, wheels and bearings is worth it considering how often I skate ( and also considering my complete skates cost less that that  )

I've been toying with the idea of skating these for awhile, and small would be fine for me. But they're heavy and tall and expensive, and I can't get a straight answer from anyone just how much lighter & lower the new models are.

I would like to know how much lower these are as well. I've got Slimlines right now and they're just a little too tall for my tastes. How difficult would it be to shave off a few mm on top?

I was about to ask this when i saw this topic. Are they higher/lower with m-types?

Shave a few mm off the Slimlines, or the Elements? And what boots are you gonna skate 'em on?

I was looking at my old ables last night, the green and white teams, and they are actually taller than my black team elements...no real point to this other than being a little shocked by that...

Are you measuring from the axles, or the whole frame?

I had to improvise with UFS hardware, but with Nimhs the stock hardware would work fine.
