if the boot is all ready flat, what else needs to be done for Gen souls? Also, any one know what size souls you need on a 8.5 boot?

6-7 souls.
If the boot hasn't been trimmed on the sides then you will need to shave just a little bit on the inside/back of the wrap around on the heel area of the soul plate.
You can counter sink new holes so you can screw the the souls to the boots.
For the bs plates you either have to cut a hole in the boots or shave the back of the BS plates.

I do this but its not at all neccesary for most:
Chisel off the UFS nubs on the souls. Drill holes just a quarter inch forwards on the holes you just chiseled out. Then when you screw the souls on center them so the BS plates are centered with the frame groove rather than set back a quarter inch how they would be normally.
