They were actually really good live. The band itsself has become kind of a joke within the death metal genre, but you can't deny Chris Barnes' past. It was a small ass club and I was really close to the stage and felt slightly star struck to see Barnes' scary looking ass walk out on stage.

The clean vocals are basically just spoken word over certain parts. The album has a very unique feel to me.

If you like blackened doom or ambient/atmospheric black metal or funeral doom, get this album. This album is definitely unique, I'm loving the guitar tone. So heavy and so good.

That's how btbam is. I'm not gonna' lie, the first time I heard Obfuscation, I was not blown away, and I am so thankful for that. They make amazing music, and amazing music doesn't instantly gratify the listener, because that stuff never has a shelf life longer than a week. they make music that has to be unwrapped and dissected.
