damn it was scarier this time, even though i knew what was going to happen. probably because my girlfriend was gripping me the whole time.

Yeah, I'm really looking forwards to seeing Shutter Island. I saw an extended trailer that pretty much laid out the whole plot, but it looks like it might be exciting.
It relied on shock factor like most horror films, granted it was done RIGHT, but scary isn't the word that should be used.

Just got back from seeing it.
I liked it, but I had no expectations since I havent even heard of it. So I would say dont go see it cause everyone that heard hype about it seems to not like it.

i'm sorry but this movie sucked ballz. it the shaky camera blair witch nonsense all over again. The only way u would possibly find this movie scary is if you really convince your self your part of the movie. My girl dragged me to this and i went because i heard good things. boy were they wrong. there will be an inevitable back lash towards this movie when dumbass americans finally figure out it's just a dude with a video camera , strings tied to doors making them randomly shut, and some stock sound effects added in. i mean honestly, the bitch becomes possessed for the last ten seconds of the movie which was so out of place and had no build up. the only way this is good is if your in the theater and your a 13 year old girl. Also the main character babe is not a babe at all and your have to stair at her loose duck billed ass the whole time.i give it one star. and only because the guy rips on people the whole time.

over fucking hyped.
iunno i'm disappointed because every review i read said it was disturbing and shit. it wasn't. iunno alot of reviews made alot of claims that did not hold up. i was reading that the toughest of badasses couldn't sleep at night. i read people couldn't go home that night after watching it. my coworker told me she slept with the light on and that she isn't easily scared.
that shit was fucking gay. literally, blair with project for the 00's. only 4 spooky scenes and the rest is just some assholes talking to a camera. hell i think it's safe to say blair witch project was scarier.

yea but after seeing it, how did you think it was scarier the second time when it was the same gimmicks as, well, the first time you saw it?
iunno if it scares you that's cool but i dont think it deserves that much hype.

well, when i say scary i mean very "awkward suspense". I actually enjoy being scared by "scary movies" because that's the whole point, and this movie accomplished this the best. It didn't rely on a CGI monster, a dangerous orphan, being trapped and having to cut off your leg to survive, or being in a hostel with maniacs bidding on who gets to murder you. It felt more real, and for that reason it was way more fun.
Also, the first time I watched it I was drunk and high with my friends. I was sober hanging out with my girlfriend, who was thoroughly freaked out, the second time I saw it. I should have said, it was more exciting the second time, because I knew it was coming and it still had me in suspense.
I would be willing to go see it but I think the movement of the camera would make me sick.

it's not as bad as blair with project. about 80% of the time they're not holding it, it's either on a tripod or he set the camera down and aimed it at his girlfriend as he talks to her.
