BE-MAG, this is the start of (hopefully) a monthly, maybe even bi-monthly or weekly event
two be-maggers battle it out and push themselves to make as best a edit as they can with limited time and resources, be-mag decides who is victorious
place your vote. you only get one vote and it can not be retracted so make it count!

the ttp at the end of rob's edit sealed the deal for me. the curve rail in gatsby's almost changed my mind but it needed wax or a quicker approach. there were tight tricks in both.
Gatsby's definitely surprised me, but i went with Andy cause he had the harder tricks in the cold and rainy weather. That shit sucks, but he stilled pulled it off. PS, Dicke sucks at filming! hahaha, but I love him though. Wait, maybe he just filmed the second half. Those were filmed well, just those parking garage ledges were filmed so shitty, haha

those days that i got to film were beautiful, maybe 3 or four days of sun, but its been fucking dumping rain over here in the bay area
this could be a really sick idea. there i a huge range of talent on be-mag. i think it would be a sick idea if there was a be-mag don king of this shit haha. like a moderator. people could submit past edits of themselves and could be paired up by skill level. i would LOVE to make a battle edit, but there are a lot of skaters much better than me, but i know there are lots i could hang with, and it would be sick to see relatively new skaters really pushing themselves to make a competitive edit against another newbie. this could be such an awesome thing if done properly.

Props to both of you for making this happen. I think it's a great idea and was really excited when I saw the edits were in.
When I first heard about that battle, I was pretty sure Rob would win, based on what I had seen of their skating: a little edit of balls and Rob's sig, a ttp on a rail.
But now I voted for balls, both edits were good, both had one trick that really stood out imo: Rob's ttp and balls' first trick. However, balls' trick took shocked me more, since I had been waiting for a ttp by Rob anyway.
maybe it's only because I like balls' be-persona better. :lol:

-we keep this poll going till friday or monday and a third party calls the winner at a exact time.
-we should just go straight to the 30 second deathmatch of just raw clips
i can put a timer on the next poll, when that timer is finished, those will be solid results. if its still a tie at the end of that then this shit ends in a tie haha

I need new soulplates so bad. I think all my tricks will be switch and negative, so take it easy on me.
the main reason i didnt want to do a tie breaker deathmatch is because i didnt want to steal any attention away from the cool guy vs. :( battle that is coming up or any other battles.
but fuck it, we need to have a solid conclusion to this battle

no music, raw clips
rob, get your friends to set up a tripod because they are fucking miserable at filming. i don't want anything to take away from the actual focus of these edits
exactly two weeks to film. edits posted on thursday, march 19th
i will set the poll to run for five days.
judge criteria purely on skating. this is still up to you to decide how to vote. this can be overall skating, technical difficulty, degree of danger, style. whatever
that way if i win i wont hear this shit about people voting for me because they like my personality. what the fuck is that shit. i didnt want to make any strict guidelines because that takes the fun out of it, but if i had known people would take something stupid like that into account i would have specifically said to focus on the skating in the edits

To Rob Schirmer: Please get a Vimeo account so that we don't have to deal with such shitty quality. Also, the song was garbage.
To gatsby: you have nice spots, but you can do more on them. Rob has you beat because of more vocabulary. And your song was only ok. Not too good, but not getting me excited about skating at all either.
