was amazing. It's not in any way a kids movie, and I thoroughly recommend it.
Visually stunning, and a great story about childhood. Really makes me want to be a kid again.
It is a tearjerker, and a great date movie. Works well with ladyfriends.

I felt like the plot didn't have much substance. Of course the original book isn't much more than what, 8 pages? But I felt right when the movie was about to end the story line had just barely taken off. I'd like to see it again but for now I'll rate it an Okay.

from the other thread, since this one has a less obscure title...
just got home from it. good stuff. i'm going to need to watch it again, because i always lose focus when i see midnight movies, but it was up to my expectations.
visually stunning throughout, well acted/voiced, had a very unique feel to it.

Overall, the movie is kind of a bummer though. Much more negative moods than I expected. Not necessarily a bad thing though.

But be-mag film critics said it was going to suck.
So because they said it was going to suck, that means the movie will suck.

I can totally see why Sendak was against the kid running away from home now. Instead of being sent to his room and going on this adventure, then having the hot soup left for him which shows that mother/son love, we get this reunion after Max just storms off. It's hard to say that it's complete love in the movie's ending, it comes off as more of a relief for the mother because he's home and safe.
I'm so glad they portrayed Max as a complete fucking prick the whole way through. I wasn't expecting them to do that.
Really cool movie overall, but going to be embarrassing to say I enjoy because of the fans.

Also, anyone else wish they would have toned it back with the music?
I'd really love to see the whole film without any of the music in it.

i heard spike used all these wierd methods to draw different emotions from the little dude.
as it was his first acting job, spike would hire circus freaks to do stuff off camera to get him to show amazement in his face, or to disgust him etc etc
i really hope this film comes out quickly here

I was actually a fan of the soundtrack. Don't know why, it kinda floated over my head and I wasn't really distracted. I thought it added alot.
i looooved the soundtrack. i am pretty biased because its Karen O, but it was so haunting and i really thought it fit well.

"Where the wild things are" sounds like the title on some show on the animal planet.
