post your carbon size, previous skate sizes, frame size, and pics of possible.

i will add them to this thread as i find them. this can help a lot of people with their $350 purchase. if there are enough to add, i will sticky this in the reviews forum.

Just got my carbons. Went out for a little skate at the local park. They are perfect. The souls are so sick. Perfect lock and slide like crazy. These are a size 10 and are the same size as my 9 Valos. They are pretty stiff and feel nothing like the old Deshi's. Best skates I have ever skated.

NOTE: US Sizes.

Ok so I have so many emails, messages, pms, posts etc asking stuff i decided to get as much info as possible and went on a shady mission to find some carbons in the warehouse, and managed to find 2 pairs reserved but not left yet, and my own, and test out what i could on them.

I found a size 12 US and an 11 US and i have my own size 10US

Full body shots as requested to see the size of the skates worn. these skates are a 10US 9UK and 43EU, same as my "sneakers" / trainers. I am just over 5'11 i believe, allthough the last time i checked i was probably 12 years old. The frames on the skate are a size SMALL Kizer type M frame.

Ok, next on the agenda is the size 12US Carbon.

With MEDIUM Kizer Slimline frame, and next to a SIFIKA IRUKANDJI of the SAME size.

Both skate and shoe is a size 12 US

Thats all i could get before the truck took our last 2 carbons.

as for sizing they fit tight! if you are very comfortable with your size fit you should be ok, when in doubt go half a size up or even a whole size up! these skates are tiny, rememberÑ

they do NOT share shell sizes! Exclusive skate for each size. So remember that you may have been sharing with a bigger boot on your previous skates. Get your COMFORTABLE shoe size. Dont try and get them too small to look cool, they are tiny already.

CH1 soulplates fit on the skates perfectly, but if you downsize 2 sizes. Size 10 fits a 8 soulplate so imagine how small they are. (deshi ch1 soulplates are 8-9, 10-11, 12-13 US so down 1 or two sizes.

However the soulplate on the Carbon is perfect. That was just for your information.

Anything else i can help with??

Ups came with my SIZE 8 carbons 10 min ago, yay!

My advice is to size up, I've skated size 7 in all brand (I mean all!) except Remz which I had in size 8. The Carbons in size 8 were supersnug for me, waaay more snug than for example size 7 Aragon 2's. My "actual" size is 7.5.......

Aragon 2 (size7) compared to Size 8 Carbons:

When I said they are the same size as my 9 valo's I meant on the outside and overall look. The 10 carbon has more room as far as fit goes than the 9 valo's (toe cut).

wanted to clear that up.

The 10 carbons share a soul plate with the 11's stamped on the plates say 43-44.

I'm a perfect size UK6 in every other skate I've tried, and I've gone through a fair amount in the six years I've been rollerblading. I have to be honest, though I'm a 6 in all shoes and skates, the Carbon's are very small fitting, and though I can skate perfectly fine in the six and they're reasonably comfortable, I feel I may benefit from getting a 7 Carbon in the future. Something I'll probably be doing, the skates really are awesome.

10.5?????

Yes, that is in fact the size of the skate... :?

I wear a 10.5us in pretty much every shoe, and the 10.5us Carbons fit perfect. If you have a regular shoe size, I would suggest the same size in these skates.

How many ways can people say it?

Get your average shoe size +1 for safety. you can always add a beefier more comfortable insole.

spaniard
03.04.2009, 06:21
Get your perfect shoe size if you are a very definite size, or if you are renadom sizes go up half a size or a full size. compare yourselves to SNEAKERS and not skates, in my experience.

COMFORTABLE SNEAKERS, because even i get small sneakers and try break them in, knowing if i get a 10US i will always be fine. So a 10 carbon is my size.

AS for seperate soulplate sizing i will go and work it out now.

I doubt they still have them, haven't been shipped to US shops yet, and I think they sent back the pairs from BCSD to Europe.

Who knows though.

They didn't ship the try-on skates back to Europe, some pairs went to team riders and some were/are being sold. My friend TFP bought the 13's, skated with him tonight, he loves them but is getting some blistering and such.

al dolega
04.04.2009, 03:20
Yes, people have been ordering from Grindhouse and Ignition, I believe. They already have the skates and with currency conversion and whatever it actually comes out cheaper than buying in the US, although returning them if they don't fit is going to be a royal pain in the ass, thus the zillion threads about the sizing, and thus this attempt to consolidate them. The US shipment is due in the next couple of weeks.

Size 9US with a small GC frame.

Weirdest feeling skates ever.

Definitely going to take some getting used to.

I'm in between a 8-9 in every shoe. I have a little room in the toebox but thats only because its a little tall, my toes almost touch the end of the shell.

They fit well, if I were to have gotten an 8, I'm sure they would have been too small.

Can't wait to try them out, hopefully this week if I get all my work done.

Heading out for the first sesh with them.

I'm happy for you man! You managed to get them in the end! You managed to sell the Xsjado's?

I'm definitely happy with mine. At first I was worried they'd be too small, because they were really tightly wrapped on my feet when I first had them. Now either my feet have shrunk a little or they have broken in because they're perfect.

They definitely didn't feel too weird for me. I could do everything I could do in Valo's straight off. Though that isn't saying much haha.

They do need to be done up very tightly though I find.

I don't think they are worthy of all this hype, but I definitely love them, and are a big improvement on my Valo's.

No complaints whatsoever. Soul-space, lightness, stability, ease of use. I really like them.

No blisters yet *Fingers crossed*

:D

P.S

One small thing, I have a size US7 and when I put a small fetherlite on the skates, it looks as if it's a large frame on them they're so small! Should I be at all worried about this Al?

The only way I'd be worried about it was if the ends of the top of the frame were hanging off the boot, and thus weren't supported. And I doubt that's happening so there's no functional reason to worry about it.

As for sizing preferences, at least as far as actual skating feel/performance goes, and not cosmetics, frame length really has nothing to do with the length or bulk of the boot. If a frame is the wheelbase that you like, how big the exterior of your boot is isn't going to change it... your foot is still the same size and the frame is still the same size.

The only reason to change your frame wheelbase when your boot bulk/size changes would be cosmetics. Or maybe if the new boot has some crazy-different front-to-back frame alignment, and you need a longer or shorter wheelbase to get one of the wheels where you need it in relation to your toes or heel. But that's a pretty rare case and you'd really be treating the symptom, not the problem itself.

So I just skated my box for like a 1/2 hour on my new KARBENZ! and I think it's going to be a while before I can give an honest review but so far they're fun. Anyways, I have worn size 9 xsjado's for the past few years, size 8 salomons(which were very snug), and 8/9 cult style razors forever. So far my size 9 carbons feel a lot like the size 8 solomons I used to skate but kind of reversed. In the salomons my toes hurt and in the carbons my heel hurts. It seems like whenever I land from a trick all of the shock absorption is being taken in by my heels. I think this might have something to do with the skates just sitting different than what I'm used to but it's definately not very soft in the heel area. Anyways, yeah...more soon.

oh yeah...and pics.

And I didn't feel like waiting until I got home to try them on so I had one on at work for like a 1/2 hour and kept rolling by my pregnant cranky boss on one skate. Good times.

The stock shock absorber and insoles are garbage.

I put in SWS gel shock absorbers and got new Dr Scholls sports get insoles with arch support and it easily made them 2x as comfy.

Try it.

right on...I think I will. I meant to ask about that too...I couldn't remember who was talking about it recently.

I'm with unknown pleasures on this one. I've been skating them for two weeks now and since day ONE I threw out the stock heel pad and insoles... With the stock setup I felt too raised and my heels were killing me. I'm just rolling with a very fat gel dr. scholls in there and it's PERFECT. The skate even fits better and no heel pain whatsoever.

definitely try it.

small update after a pretty heavy beating for two weeks:
they are sliding better and better with more use.
the soul plates in my opinion wear a bit too fast which is a sucky thing since they are so thin.
I can easily see the buckle receptor dying with a good miss on a ledge but so far so good.

Those are/were my only quirks. They skate amazingly and after using them 8-10 hrs you feel like you were always meant to ride carbons.[/b]

just got them in...they feel a lot better but I had to take out the shock absorber which sucks because I'm used to xsado's with the raised heel. Thanks for the help guys...

Get SWS shock absorbers.

They aren't as thick as the sifika ones and they aren't raised.

I've already done rails that I haven't done before because of these skates, and I've done some tricks I've never done before on the rails I've already hit.

Definitely a pleasure to ride.

I'm kind of scaired to try a rail with the carbons...I'm going to give myself a couple of weeks of doing simple stuff before I try anything remotely dangerous.

I missed like my first 10 grinds because I jumped too high/far.

But seriously, get SWS pads, because they stick to the bottom of the boot.

Alright these better be awesome because I just ordered some...it's been like 6 years since I've skated with sws shock pads...this is weird.

UnknownPleasures

You need some kind of shock absorber in carbons, they're just too stiff.

The Sifika ones are too raised for such a low cuff and they are that stupid rubber material and will just slide around under your foot.

The SWS ones are barely raised but fairly thick, also sticky and stay put in the heel of the boot.

The SWS pads with those insoles together stay put and provide awesome shock absorption.

Does anybody else have a problem with the buckles on their skates? Like them being loose, but not being able to be tightened at the screws.

Oh, ok. One of my buckle flaps is loose, but the screws won't tighten or loosen at all. The t-nuts won't stay put inside the boot and it's driving me up a wall. haha

Yeah, see, mine just won't screw tighter or come off. I guess it's fine as long as they stay put though.
