I thought the same thing until I wore these $1000 carbon racing skates(the type with no cuff) and had no problem skating in them. it suprised me how easy it was. these are awsome tho cause you get just enough support to feel confident

Skated my Cell skates for the first time tonight.

Quite easy to get accustomed to it, feels good to roll fast on any type of surface...

I can tell the quality is not the best though, now I think I'll save for some Seba skates ah ah!

90's are so good and fast and smooth, they are so close to touching in the frame, at least on the my X7's anyways. you gotta keep a lookout for ufs so you can put the frame on any skate. If you are nearby we should do it up. Let me know.

Well I only rolled around the city yesterday, but I'll try to give it a fair review :

First of all, big wheels and shitty pavement go along pretty well, that's probably the nicest part.

Support isn't too bad, you got laces, a scratch thing to maintain your toes, then a buckle supporting your ankle and another on top of your foot. The latter tends to get off though, so you have to tighten it from time to time, but overall support is good. I guess it will take me some time to find the perfect balance, but this allows you to set the skates up your way, which is cool, and adapt the way you skate.

As for jumping and doing some freestyle things, I didn't do much yesterday, just a few spins over sidewalks, switching fakie and forward quickly, that kind of jazz... Seems like they can hold up pretty well though. My friend Max who owns the previous version of the skates is now lacing transfers and disaster AO pornstars on park, and huge flat 360° on the funbox... Now I gotta catch up with and improve my skills !

But yeah, overall it's a good skate, probably not the best quality out there, but still OK. Mostly, it gives a good option, between classic recreational skates and my Remz. Pretty good for roll around sessions, and still grindable. Plus they're UFS, so if you want to use them for more stunts you can just switch the frames, another cool option ! Payed less than 100 € for these, so my opinion would be to get some if you can get a decent price.

But if you're loaded, well, I highly recommend some Seba skates, way better quality I think !

you're cell skates are sick!!! I got the speedmachines only because inline ware house had them in my size on closeout. there normally $350, but I paid only $179 8)
oh and charlie... all the big dog racers ride 4 100mm wheels these days. they stopped the 5 wheel stuff 2 or 3 years ago.

I love the feeling, it's like the city is deserted. Kind of like "I am legend".

Thinking of which, my friends tend to play Skate 2 a lot.

Doesn't interest me that much, but it always get me really juiced on an actual session though !

I should buy that game instead of actual skate videos, I probably wouldn't become any good on the TV, but I would become a lot better at rollerblading for sure !

It looks a lot harder than Tony Hawks, trick wise and all.

But you can actually find your own spot, add some picnic tables to create a launch and such.

That's the part that actually gets me really excited and push me to skate ah ah !
