View Full Version : Durham and Greensoboro NC people....skate monday?
Its pretty random but im gonna be traveling down to the bottom of VA on monday so i was thinking about driving a couple extra hours to skate either Durham or Greensboro or maybe a little bit of both. Or maybe skate 915 skate park. If anybody is intrested in skating anytime after 12 of monday...send me a PM. Im down to skate street/parks or whatever. Im gonna be in town nomatter what..even if its a solo session.

Ive never skated Raliegh. its only a half hour or so from Durham. Does Raliagh have any good spots or parks? Or do you wanna meet up in Durham? I will go where ever i can find people to skate.

I used to live in Durham, but I am in school in Asheville, so I unfortunately cannot skate there monday. Occasionally spots will be a bust, but if you skate after 5 or 6 you should not have any problem at all. In case you don't find anybody to show you around, these are the absolutely essential spots (The OMNI rails have been completely removed, so don't get your hopes up for that):
NC Central University's campus is covered with rails, and it isn't a very big campus, so if you just go there you will find something. Here is one that we like to skate:

as much as cricket pissed me off sometimes he always hooked us rollers up. We had a decent park to skate (shitty, but decent) And he sold rollerblading stuff. But its all over now thanks to some fat fuck skateboarder who wanted to shut the place down. I don't want to get into politics but it was not Crickets fault that the place shut down.

There are some pretty interesting indoor parks between Raleigh/Durham & Greensboro if mother nature does decide to take a piss, thats always an option :wink:

I miss Durham spots...
In case you don't know about these spots, check them out. I don't know if they're all still there, but Google map these places and drive by if you can.
Westover Park on Club St. (a few blocks west of Northgate mall) - multiple green handicaps to transfer, the middle one curves
Durham School of the Arts (on Duke St. west of downtown) - a couple different stair rails, the best one ends on a sidewalk right by the road, so you need a spotter to skate it
YMCA on Chapel Hill Rd. - this was one of the spots for the North Cackalack Street Attack
Fuqua Business School at Duke University - banks + square rails, it was in the video Uncloned, if you look around this part of the university, you'll find some rails at the law school and some stunner rails behind Cameron court
Those are some of the most filmworthy spots in my opinion. There's actually a ton more good spots, including "rail heaven" if you're adventurous and wander into the projects.

I went to school at Duke from 2000-2004, I used to skate with Marquis, Alex Cheek, Pete Spinney, Galen, and some others, there weren't too many of us skating around there back then, I think I met you when I visited a couple years ago, we skated NC State and that one guy dislocated his ankle doing a backflip[/i]
