Reposting this here in the general forum:
----

For the past few months I have been working on a site about skating. It is meant for people who have never heard of aggressive inline skating, and gives them a quick overview of it in a neat way.

I just pushed this live today and am looking for some feedback on the text content. At this point the design and functionality are final, but the text content can be updated.

I also would like some suggestions for the links section. I have a few in there now but feel like there should be more.

Since all you people already skate, the tricks section may seem a bit weird to you, especially concerning spinning into tricks from other tricks. But there is a lot of complex logic happening there already, and this is the best I can make it.

IF YOU FIND ANY BUGS please let me know. I am open to any text suggestions to flesh out some of the informational stuff. Also if you catch anything like spelling mistakes or whatever.

really cool concept... however.

a few spelling and grammer errors.. like, you say do instead of dont in one of the captions.

some of the language is a bit unprofessional, or dumbed down. but that fine if thats what your going for.

good length of captions, although i would use foot notes to describe anything that a non roller might not know ie. "royale" or other terms.. also royale groove is an h-block. and non rollers wont know what topside is so explain that in the initial description in the soulplate section.

other than that really cool!

so the grinds do stick on the ledges as much
may be "don't"? it's in the anti rocker part.

I enjoyed the trick part, fun stuff :D

BUT that would be a lot cooler if you added a person model on skates, not just skates rotating.

The trick animations were really cool. I wish I had that when I first started.

wow. that's an awesome site. The only thing I could see being difficult is it is confusing which foot is which and what way it's going when you don't have any legs attached. I have no problem understanding it, but to a kid who is just learning to skate it could get confusing.
But other than that it seems very easy to navigate, and your designs are all really cool. This is awesome.

your spelling is god awful.

durble?

really?

you need to go back through and spell check your shit.

i tried to make the skates 270 front sav --> akin to a true porn... but it did a 270 front unity instead.

fail.

But seriously, it seems like you have many of the tricks possible there, how about you go further and add controls and make it an actual game?

Thanks for the input so far, I made a bunch of text corrections and additions.

I am still looking for more additions to the LINKS section, what are some other good skate related sites?

Added those links.

mr_cfy :

I'm not really sure how a game version would work, but I know it would take a huge amount of time and effort and I'm just not up for it. Sooo good idea, but maybe someone else can make a game version.

Really good work! There's, of course, a lot of information that can be added though! You could probably paraphrase from Wikipedia pretty easily, though.

that website is amazing. some of the explanations are worded strangely, and the tricks section i was expecting explanations/descriptions of what the tricks are, i didnt have any idea what you had going on i just keep clicking stuff until i realized they were animated demonstrations.

I would start with explanations and then have an option to view a demonstration. or at least add explanations of the tricks being demonstrated.

Site is amazing and stylish, great work man. That switchup game had me hooked for a good 10 minutes and the spot sections was right on. Keep adding stuff and editing some of spelling errors and it will be legendary.
