depends on the flavor of HD the camcorder is recording. You gotta be a little more specific, but you can use a program like compressor to change it to be able to edit and then output back out to what you want. A lot of times HD from the camera is batched to a file type that takes up twice as much space because its better to edit with... So what camera is it/what settings was it shot with is the question you need to answer. Then all the info is here on the interwebs.
