i hate both those games. people r getting ripped off by them so bad. they come out with a few songs then add new downloadable songs every week almost. at like 2$ a song. i remember reading guitar hero broke 1 bil in sales. its a fucking joke to video games every where. its a fucking useless game that in no way is any where close to a real guitar. social gaming can GTFO

I fucking loved GH1, GH2, and GH80's.

And then as soon as they switched companies and released GH3, I was so pissed off by everything about the game that I gave up on it forever.

i fucking care. ruining real games for the rest of us. now instead of making a game with good replay value and good competitiveness companies r trying to push out crap like this to make the next big buck with some corny bull shit. games like this r a fluke and hopefully the trendyness of this style of game will pass.

I personally think these are the stupidest fucking games in the world. So repetitive and pointless. My roommate thinks they are the greatest thing since sliced bread and tries to argue with me about how Halo is a stupid game and for frat dudes, his logic is all sorts of fucked up. But then he tries to say that the GH games are the greatest games ever to come out on any system.

Halo is definitely a fratboy game.

However, Guitar Hero is even more of a fratboy game.

hahhah man, I got stuck talking to my friends roommate for over 15 minutes about how he is in the top 16000 people on xbox live and practising hard to reach the top 1%. I always feel bad when I laugh uncontrollably in someones face

When you get to that point, it's super embarassing. Like, what do you get out of it at that point? You can't use it to brag about, because it makes you look like a fuck.

After I beat GH1 through GH 80's on expert I was like "what the fuck am I doing? I have been spending way more time on this than real guitar."

Then after that I vowed to quit forever, especially since they switched companies and GH3 was so god awful.

I will say however, guitar hero did slightly improve my dexterity.

I can play that song on regular guitar way easier than I can on guitar hero.

Which is just ridiculous.

My hate for this game comes from the fact that they are releasing 18 different versions in a single year.

That is not a trend I want to support.

I own GH4 /Gh2 and 3 and rock band and it made me go out and learn to play a real drumkit on the side.

Me and my housemates play it every few weeeks and I even get out the mike and sing.
It gets people actually moving rather than sitting on their asses and gets younger kids learning about real music rather that shit on MTV.
I find it good to play between other games to stop me getting bored of FPS.

I even have a custum GiTARRRR!

yeah videogame companies never pushed out shit titles to make money before Guitar hero came out.

But you are right, their gonna milk it to we all hate that title.
The CEO of Avtivision came out and said 'thery are only supporting titles that can be turned into franchises'

For one of my application essays for college i mentioned guitar hero. I wrote about how its going to ruin creativity and damage the quality of music that comes out in the near future. I forget what the prompt was though. I've always found those games very very boring.

think about it

people like playing games together

people like music

people like playing instruments

people like challenges

how is this not a 'real' game to you?

if you go that far then you can say byebye to halo and anything else because the only 'real' game would be one of the first

I have two of the guitar hero games, but I'm by no means obsessed like a lot of people. You just have to take it for what it is.

I realized these games were getting out of control when I spotted a guy playing guitar hero in a restaurant.... the restaurant was hooters.

Just played on of these passably drunk.

Pretty cool game if you ask me.

I'm glad those few weeks of practising in Cali actually helped me out.

Imitating Van Halen is not that easy, even with a "cheater guitar".

EDIT : just played a live version of "Hotel California".

Nobody can deny the power of Gilles singing insane lyrics.
