I've recently had a conversation with a friend and we discussed how extreme sports influence health in a bad way. Well not just injuries but other stuff. We agreed that we probably will have awful pains when we are old etc. but anyway there is no alternative for now, because blading is fun and life would be not the same without it.
He's told me some stuff but i really would like to hear someone else to approve it.
True or false?
1) When you fall it affects your lungs badly and makes them smaller every time because diaphragma (sp) is not prepared for it. For example when you are running it is prepared so running won't affect your lungs as much as falling.
2) Old bruises can turn into malignant tumours and they usually do.
Also side questions, i have a bruise on the side of my right knee, it's a small one but contains liquid or something and becomes bigger if i workout with legs for example. When i don't fall on it for a long time it tends to dissapear but not completely. Should i visit a doctor and have it examined and may be removed?
I have a similar one on my right hip bone.

lol yeah if you mean that it's depressing
well where exactly is this bump? I had a pretty good sized bump on my wrist (right wrist, right at the joint on the right hand side) at one point. I'm pretty sure it was a calcium deposit. Maybe that is what is in your knee?
Those liquid filled bruises are usually hematomas. which is a is a collection of blood outside the blood vessels, generally the result of hemorrhage, or more specifically, internal bleeding.
which i took from wiki.. lol

Well compared to the thing in that pic my hematoma on the hip is like 10 times smaller and on the knee it's size of a medium-sized plum.
The real question is, do they just go away if i don't hit them or should i visit a doctor to get them removed, i heard they suck the blood out with some needle or something. I don't want to really
some bruising will heal fine on it's own, sometimes the blood seeps into surrounding tissue from what i've read. if it doesn't drain on it's own you definitely have to go have it drained for it to be normal because your body will make a sack of blood to keep internal bleeding to a minimum and usually the sack of blood disappears but if not you'll have to get it drained.
I have a friend who has had the same swellbo (from when he hit it on a rail or something) for like 4 years or so.. and it's jsut NOW starting to get smaller.. lol.

I think that the greatest threat for rollerbladers for long term health problems is the anal sex with random men, especially black men, who have an increased risk of contracting teh AIDS.

I had one under my scalp from hitting my head one time and they had to suck the blood out. It was putting pressure on my skull, so they said I had to have it done immediately. It didn't hurt at all, though.

I'm no doctor, but I bet it's an STD.
