I have only told the cops that I was harassed by a drunk driver, and that he followed me home, then I chased him to his house. I haven't had the chance to go into detail with them yet.

All they know is that I have his address and license plate number, and that I am worried that he might try to do something to me or my property.

You are 100% wrong. I had a similar situation, but I was actually in my own house. I ended up getting charged with armed burglary (of my own fucking house) which carries a 10 year MMS and aggravated assault with a fire-arm which carries a 3 year MMS. All of this in self-defense at my own house. You are told that it is innocent until proven guilty, but it is actually guilty until proven innocent. The cops can do whatever the fuck they want, there is no oversight. At that point, it is up to you to pay thousands in bail and attorney fees to prove your innocence.

It is perfectly legal to have a blade under 4 inches, which mine was, and it is also legal to brandish a weapon in self defense. The only time I could see myself calling in to the police about a drunk driver is if there honestly putting other peoples lives at stake. A live lost over a drunken driver is a whole different story. 4 teenagers got killed over here a few weeks back by a lady driving 80 miles an hour flipping her van 3 times crushing them.
