I have no idea what they will do, but I have to try to do the right thing by reporting him. Maybe he has a suspended license and shouldn't be driving, maybe he's on house arrest or is on parole or something.
And fuck an apology. You are really stupid if you'd take an apology in this situation. He did some dangerous and stupid shit, scared me and my wife, and KNOWS WHERE I LIVE.
Like I feel safe right now. I'm letting the cops have their chance to take care of this. This is what responsible adults do, you stupid son of a bitch. Use your brain.

You are retarded.
I just bought my house, moved into it less than a month ago, and now I have a drunk maniac that fucked with me and now he knows where I live.
That is a shitty situation to be in. I did nothing wrong, everything I did was defensive. If the cops don't help take care of a serious problem in a decent middle class neighborhood, then I will go on the offensive and destroy this guy.
So take your head, and please try to shove it up your ass as far as you can until you suffocate.
Technically none of what you did was defensive and only made the situation worse. If you told the cops the same thing you told us you're going to look like the aggressor.
Personally I approve of what you did but the law sees differently than I do.

I have only told the cops that I was harassed by a drunk driver, and that he followed me home, then I chased him to his house. I haven't had the chance to go into detail with them yet.
All they know is that I have his address and license plate number, and that I am worried that he might try to do something to me or my property.
so you're mad about someone riding yoru ass and flashing high-beams while you are going 70 in a 25...and let me guess, that was a residential zone.

Yo, that is weak as fuck for so many fucking reasons. First and foremost, you snitched. That is unacceptable.
Second, if dude was really that drunk, he's probably not going to actually remember where you live.
And, you fucking told on yourself, which is funny because that is what a lot of snitches end up doing. If the cops really investigate this guy and he gives a statement that is similar to what you told us, you might very well be fucked. You were the aggressor in that situation. Think about it. He was flashing his light and riding your ass. Then he got out and walked towards your car and you flexed on him with a knife. I understand that it was self-defense, but the courts might very well argue otherwise. To them, just because you said that he was drunk, doesn't mean that it was definitely true. They have to look at it from both people's sides and they almost always are against the person that has a weapon, especially if you are not in your house. Then, yes he was by your house, but you chased him. Once again, the aggressor. It could have been over, but now they might just arrest you for aggravated assault. All thanks to snitching!
Here's what I would have done:
I would have let his bitchass hit me. Then I would have not even fucking moved, waited for the ambulance and then told them not to fucking touch me because I think that my back is broken. They would have then taken me by helicopter to the hospital. I have enough fucked up problems with my back from skating, that I could definitely fake some shit, especially with a good personal injury doctor/lawyer combo (they tend to link up and work in pairs to maximize profits).
So, now you are a snitch who foolishly snitched on yourself and could quite possibly be facing some time because of it. Whereas, if you were me, you would never snitch and would also have a fatty $10,000-100,000 settlement coming you way.

Charlie, despite your many run-ins with the law, that is just a bunch of crazy bullshit about me possibly getting aggravated assault. That won't happen because I know my rights.
You are 100% wrong. I had a similar situation, but I was actually in my own house. I ended up getting charged with armed burglary (of my own fucking house) which carries a 10 year MMS and aggravated assault with a fire-arm which carries a 3 year MMS. All of this in self-defense at my own house. You are told that it is innocent until proven guilty, but it is actually guilty until proven innocent. The cops can do whatever the fuck they want, there is no oversight. At that point, it is up to you to pay thousands in bail and attorney fees to prove your innocence.

You must have really had a hard life to be so mistrustful. I can see where you are coming from in regards to cops being dicks, really, but I can also see how your mistrust makes it so you can't see a positive outcome when dealing with police or any kind of government agencies.
I was optimistic that the police would do something, and I was wrong. Lesson learned.

It is not about having a hard life, it is about actually having to experience dealing with the cops many times. If you ever actually do get caught up in the legal system or know someone who does, let me know how right and fair it is and how much justice is actually served.

"No one has the right to threaten or unlawfully intimidate anyone else. You do have the right to protect yourself. Sometimes, in a brandishing case, the person who is charged is simply the person who did not call the police first. Again, the brandishing of a weapon is lawful when done in self-defense."
EXCEPT YOU NEVER HAD TO DEFEND YOURSELF. the general way self defense laws work is you are allowed to meet force with force. him walking up to your car is not attacking you.
you're the one who threatened him with a knife and you were the aggressor when you chased him and went onto his property. if anything, he would have legally been able to defend himself against YOU.
again, i'm not saying you shouldn't have done what you did, but you can't be a victim in the eyes of the law while at the same time being a vigilante. it just doesn't work that way legally. if you're going to do stuff like this then you can't go to the police afterwards.

Charlie, so you're trying to act all tough and street smart, giving him a hard time for "snitching". At the same time you're saying you would have taken the hit and not fought back, called for an ambulance, then lied to get a settlement out of the guy. How is that different from:
Oh, so you lied and you snitched . . .?
Don't bother answering that. I don't actually care. All I'm saying is "I live and die by that shit. It's all about being a man and handling your own business" has no relevance in a situation where this guy did more for his and his family's own protection (not his wallet) than you would have.
You did the right thing. If anything, you should have gotten the plate numbers the first time he approached you so you wouldn't have to speed chase him later. And called 911, not the non-emergency line. These kids don't know what what snitching means if they think that's what you did. You took the situation into your hands for the sake of yourself, your family, and this drunk asshole (you probably even scared him out of doing this again).
The guy fuckin followed him home. I would of chased him too. He found out where the drunk lives now, so at least he's not scared shitless for his wife and himself. Driving blind drunk like that is not cool. Stop trying to turn this on him. I think you did a good job, fuck that idiot. Why do some many of you have to resort to the calling the police? Why can you not handle your own business?
Because people who handle their own business in this kind of situation end up on house arrest.
All I know is, if some mother fucker tried to run me off a highway and discovered where my home where my wife is, the women I love and married and will bear my children...
He wouldn't even have made it that far into his house without his legs broken.
And he if he was that drunk, he wouldn't even have remembered me breaking his legs if your saying he won't remember where fantastic's house is.
As a matter of fact, if he was drunk enough to operate his vehicle to follow someone AND drive it back to his own house, he was probrally drunk enough to remember where fantastic feet lives. Drunk enough = sober enough here.

Charlie, despite your many run-ins with the law, that is just a bunch of crazy bullshit about me possibly getting aggravated assault. That won't happen because I know my rights.
It is perfectly legal to have a blade under 4 inches, which mine was, and it is also legal to brandish a weapon in self defense. He was the aggressor in the initial confrontation when he approached my vehicle at a stoplight after harassing me and almost causing an accident 6 times..Except in the part where you chased him down making you now the aggressor and with you upping him in terms of force (you told him straight up that you had a knife). Had you not stated you had a weapon and kept that shit concealed then perhaps you'd have a case. Instead you made yourself out to be some knife wielding vigilante which doesn't go over so great with cops.

Charlie, I like you, I hate cops, but get real.
You never call the cops=Being in shit tons of trouble with the law
Everyone else=calls the cops when appropriate, never in trouble
Do you understand that?
Fantastic feets handled this situation like a fucking retard the way he did things, I would have left the cops out. If here were smart, he would have just called 911 like the third time the dude pulled this drunk driving shit and gotten him arrested, and never had to do anything but make the phone call.
Sometimes you HAVE TO CALL THE POLICE in order to exonerate yourself of any legal recourse, get what you want accomplished, and keep yourself safe.
snitch (snch) Slang
v. snitched, snitch·ing, snitch·es
v.tr.
To steal (something, usually something of little value); pilfer. See Synonyms at steal.
v.intr.
To turn informer: He snitched on his comrades.
to make it perfectly clear, something charlie can relate to...
X gets arrested for selling drugs. In order to reduce his charges he informs the police Y supplied him in turn getting out of trouble and putting that heat on Y. [Simply calling the police when appropriate is not snitching].
What Fantastic Feets did was absolutely the dumbest thing I have ever heard, threaten someone with a knife, then call the police to tell them about it.

No, you don't seem to understand the concept. Not snitching = you do not fuck with police. I can't really think of any situation that I would ever need to resort to the police. The only time I have called the cops on someone was a HORRIDLY drunk person driving on a highway. But that was just too fucked up not to do it, they were literally swerving ALL over the place. And no I am not a little girl, I am someone who understand if you go all cerberus on someone (even if you are right) the cops are super gay and will lock you up regardless of circumstances. And sure im afraid of being locked up, not the physically being in jail part(although that does kind of scare me), I'm afraid of having a tattered record. When you are majoring in Nuclear Engineering(just switched majors) you cannot have assault charges on your record and expect anyone to hire you. So I will reference the title of the 1966 Leonardo Sciascia novel, To Each His Own.

I drive drunk and pass sobriety tests and get my friends home safely and I AM THE ASSHOLE!? your mind is fuckin warped dude.
When someones driving around blind drunk it's not just "yo binniss", it's every ones. I'd call the cops on any dumb fuck swerving around the streets almost rear ending me. The thought of considering it "snitching" and seeing that as a weak end solution blows my mind. Get that piece of shit off the roads before he kills someone. Get that "snitch" bullshit outta here.

passing the sobriety test says that my motor skills are not so far impaired that i cannot opperate my vehicle safely. i would rather share the road with someone like me than with someone like him. and just to be clear, i would never drive in the manner that the drunk asshole that followed feets did. when i have been drinking i do the speed limit, use my blinkers, and take no chances. not only to i want to make it home safe, but i have no interest in killing someone else or going to jail. apparently, feets didnt feel the same way as he sped through the neighborhood like a knife toting maniac. How can yall think its completely okay for feets to act like such a lunatic but i am the devil for driving after a night at the bar?
p.s. i have been drinking since 7pm for the NCAA Basketball Finals. Im pretty fucking smashed right now. I watched the game 5 min. from my house and probably could have gotten home alright, but since i was there with a friend that wasnt drinking i opted for the safe ride home. i'll just get my car tomorrow. like i told yall last time...i try to be safe when i can, so if i get behind the wheel im fuckin sure that i can handle it. if im not sure, then i dont drive.

Use your brain.
but you did dangerous and stupid shit too. you had a weapon, and you engaged with him in a high speed chase through a residential area.
the cops are going to do nothing for you. use your brain.

The only time I could see myself calling in to the police about a drunk driver is if there honestly putting other peoples lives at stake. A live lost over a drunken driver is a whole different story. 4 teenagers got killed over here a few weeks back by a lady driving 80 miles an hour flipping her van 3 times crushing them. I think that goes far beyond the code of snitching.

So, I get home, park in the garage, and call the police department's non-911 line.
At least one person in this world has a brain.
My girlfriend is a 911/police dispatcher, and the amount of fucking retards that call 911 emergency for petty shit blows my mind.

Ha I called 911 when I lived in Chicago at like 4am one night because someone was driving North bound on the South bound side of the expressway with their lights off IN THE FAST LANE.
Either they were way way way drunk and somehow got on that side of the highway or they had a death wish.

Being frustrated at people who can't read is not the same as being mad.

But seriously Vince, that sucks...I'm sure the dude already forgot where you live and probably won't bother doing anything but when you're married I'm sure that the rage built up really quick when you saw him at your house and I can't blame you for chasing him.
