Size 8 (41 for you euro heads) :) I bought these two pairs here in Sofia yesterday. I got them both at the same time since I don't know when I'll be able to get some more.
Does anyone know how to chop the widebodies down so they aren't so bulky?

i ride the rob salo now and i hate the widebodies. I am working on a cool solution
aragon 2 soulplates seems to be an good idea, but thats too expensive....

I don't want to grind the boot at all, just the widebodies. .Maybe after I skate the shit out of them I'll consider grinding the boot down, but for now not really an option I'm considering.

Btw Stew, did you see Slaveyko's salomons (the guy with the salomons from yesterday) they were with remz soulplates :) so when rosko buys new skates you can try to put your old remz plates on the salomons :)

I actually liked his setup, but it looked like he melted the soulplates onto the boot. It was weird. Maybe it was just some type of glue or something.

i didn't like salo that much, but i wanted those thompson 2s really bad.
you can still find salomons in sport shops around here... usually on sale. i might buy some just to spite some of you :wink:

He has got a second pair as well, size is EU 42 2/3, so I guess it must be something like US 9 1/2 and UK 8 1/2. He only has one pair of liners though.

I actually wanna see what exactly I should do for the groove area. The front and rear thirds are pretty straightforward to cut, but the middle third would be the most difficult I think

dont cut them!, just make an good big groove to the widebodies, i find it really strange to grind h block tricks without the widebodies, you cant lock proper....

Yea all i can skate these days are Salomons.
SL souls are the best so far IMO.
I like Genesys souls a bit.
Best setup I've ever had(blue ST8s).
You can fit a size small/size1/US 6-7 SL soul plate on those.
Its super tight but my bcam(see below and skatesetup.com link) are a size US 8 with 6-7 SL souls
If you want I can mod them for you.
EDIT: jsut realized your not in the US but anyone else who's interested just PM me!

How much shaving of the boot did you have to do to fit the SL souls on? And how does it affect the weight?
They have to be totally flat.
Then a good amount on the sides of the heel and then just a tad up front on the sides.
I cut notches into the shell so the souls would clip on.
But you could just cut the tabs off the souls so you dont have to ruin the look of the shells.
As for weight, the SL souls actually ARE super light.
They're lighter than USD dual plates!
what wheels do you use in the middle of the gc di frame?
and the genesys soulplate is also one size smaller than the salo boot?

i ride the DI HiLo
for a flat feeling but with huge groove
unfortunately the DIs wear out mad fast on ledges and the hilos are slow on park
so i need a pair of each..
those black salomons are a size 5 with a chopped down 6-7 soul

Chopped the widebodies tonight and put my new frames on them. Unfortunately, the Slimlines that fit fine on a euro 41/US 8 are a bit long on the same size salomon. Oh well. I'm not buying new frames, them shits were expensive!
they look much better now, but souls and bs plate are still too wide so you cant sit on farvs and royales well
thats a bummer about the frame length
but those will probably skate like a dream

i prefer a much shorter frame
i skate the size small (235mm) 5050 and salomon frames.
makes heel rolls more fun :)
and i dont understand why salomon made those things so damn big
they shold have come stock the way you cut them

i think the frame looks good a little long. i guess its personal preference but i like it!

I'm psyched to try slimlines, too, but the height is a little unnerving. Have you noticed the impact on your grinding/weight distribution?
