you don't have to use a digital lens with a digi camera....
but the 16mm wouldn't really be a fisheye with the d50's crop factor

there is also the peleng 8mm

Sasquatch - I love how you placed the flash in that one picture. It made a pretty little pattern on the downledge.

I am Justin - You blew out his left side but it made the picture that much more dope with your commentary. "Two faced", haha. By the way that shadow is a little misleading. You could of moved the flash and the kid a little further away from the wall and closer to you so the shadow would have casted father and not in the frame.

Nice shots, Only critscem I have is the lighting on the first shot, you have a super harsh shadow cast from that flash, Idonno where else you could have positioned it do to the fact the shot is so wide thought...maybe waited till the skater was closer to the end of the rail and postined it pas the end of the rail....something I have noticed in skating photos is alot of photoraphers dont take into consideration the shadows and how ackward they can be sometimes.....just something to think about i guess...nice shots thoguh, your shots are deffinetly getting better.

T!M

Thanks man appreciate the crit - I did actually have some shit shadows on the makio and re took them etc. The top photo was a slag to shoot, I just couldnt capture it how i wanted - im not really happy with that and your right about the flash. But its made me take it into consideration even more in the future,

With friends we made a little french web mag on PDF "Ourselves". We work on this moment on the issue 3. We have few articles but we don't have pictures of skating for the cover and the section PHOTO. If you have good pictures send in this mail [email protected]
Thank you !

You can see old issue here www.roller-spirit.fr.st (section Ourselves)

Craig - You've got some cool concepts, but you need to work on your composition a little more. Like on the brick shot, it's cool, but the composition of the bricks within the frame doesnt lead the viewer anywhere. If you work on a couple of things like that, you'll have some cool shots

555's should be.

i prefer the sync cord connection and power adjustment dial on the 544. the fact that they sell for cheaper is nice as well.

Werdsky. I run the energizers in my 555, but wondered if anyone used the sunpak batt packs.

It is actually drops of dishwashing soap. In both pictures the subject was placed on a white peice of construction paper and then I bounced all natural light from three directions. Then I spent some time in photoshop cleaning it up.

one flash?....the first one is alot better but both have really harsh shadows i would have pulled the flash out a little to soften it if possible and maybe tried some diffrent angles with that flash myabe elongate the shadows by placing the flash right at the skater (90 degree angles from camera in 2nd picture) and raised it up as well. one flash is tough though.
