Zim, your video was 1:41 long in 720x480, and 370mb. That's not good. You're either working in a SD project or exporting it to SD. Export it in HD 720p for Vimeo. Use these settings, then you'll be fine with 500mb limit unless you want to upload something over about 10minutes long: http://vimeo.com/help/compression
I recommend downloading Quicktime PRO with a keygen for compression.

the images of the guy sat down with his back toward camera was for www.brailleman.com for the SS11 showcase at london fashion week, i made profit but i also directed a video featured by esquire magazine on mens days at london fashion week for the designers.

the images of the girls, they where just images from a go see's and a tests while i was casting for some jobs that never saw the light of day

the fashion industry is a stone, squeezing blood from it is hard. ive worked for rankin, laurence ellis, willem jaspert and marlene mariano, and ive been a studio assist on shoots with mario testino, willy vanderperre and more so ive still got along way to go before my career really starts

while i agree with you autofocus is less important, chimping on your LCD to see if your exposure good is just poor technique.
and to say autofocus is lazy is just dumb. any modern day camera can focus lightspeeds faster than a human can.
in the time where it takes for you to fine tune your focus
(which judging by your pictures come out blurry anyway most of the time)
i could have already taken the picture with the speediness of my camera.

here's my challenge to you since i had to do yours.
go do something with your fullframe camera that it's meant for. ill even give you choices.
1. go out and shoot a really nice megawide image.
2. print something larger than 16x24
3. take pictures under low light. of your penis.

Aside from gear talk though, Drews photos aren't struggling because he's using a certain setup but because his subject matter is awful. Drew needs to spend more time considering his subject matter and why anyone should want to look at it. What reaction does the viewer have from looking at your photographs. If the viewer is even considering how the photo was taken and has to think about stupid things like "rules in photography" (I.E. Depth of field, Rule of thirds (LOL!)) then you haven't done a good job of taking a photograph or creating an image. Oh and point and shoot isn't a bad thing at all. I think most of the people on this board would learn a lot about photography by simplifying their process.

Yo yo, I used like 3 tools to fix your photo up a bit in about 90 seconds; mainly because Im procrastinating from work.

I wasn't gonna do a full out jobbie on your snap but here are some quick alterations.. If you get into it more seriously pick up a can of diffusion spray and some lighter fluid, it can help to eliminate those clusters of lights around the headlights. You shouldn't get rid of all reflections but just not so hectic. Also if youre gonna shoot a car clean the windshield and take down the air fresheners hahah.

Not gonna lie, but I like how the lights are nice and defined. But yeah, there's a lot more reflections going on than I'd like, but it was at a gas station, so oh well. :D

This is my First Picture post with my new Camera. I've only had it since Christmas and I'm just learning, but any feedback and criticism is appreciated, I really hope to get really good one day. :)

Anything is possible in Photoshop if you are willing to spend the time on it.

If you are good with the clone tool, you could easily move the horizon lower after you isolate the girl and put her on a new layer, filling in the missing pixels with a specialty brush on a lower opacity setting. Since the girl would be on a different layer, you could do whatever you want to the levels & saturation of the grass, and respectively, the girl.

No filters AT ALL EVER. No lens flares. No blobs of unexplainable light. You're photos oughta stand well enough on it's own. All that stuff that get's tacked on doesn't cover up for poor exposure or improper use of curves.

What would you guys change in this photo?
I can't figure out how to change the grass to a different shade so the little girl stands out more. Any ideas?

I'd rather be able to like move the horizon down so the grass takes up less space in the picture, but that's not possible, right? haha

Made an HDR image of my son using Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS5. Darkened his corneas a bit, added more contrast in general.

Any tips or advice?

If you don't have a tripod, stack some boxes on top of each other. I've made make-shift stability setups using boxes, suitcases, window sills, mailboxes, walls, fences, etc.

Set the camera's aperture (f-stop) at 22 so very little light gets let in. Set the shutter speed from 3-10 seconds (try everything in between to find what works best) or more

If you don't have a remote control to release the shutter, set the camera's timer so there's no shaking when it activates the shutter itself.

I've seen people get rapped for less (poor grammar) plus I have always been skeptical about how people treat others since being a part of other forums including this one. However I am glad you guys are very welcoming =)

saw a picture then went on an investigation to see how the photographer managed to do it, nearly came out right i guess. This was done all in chamber, no photoshopping of any sort.
