bs is so good a taking pictures because he has a camera made of gold.

i heard a rumor that the devil came down to norcal, he was looking for a soul to steal. he was in a bind, he was way behind and willing to make a deal. he came across bs in the middle of a shot, he jumped up the hand rail and said "boy let me tell you want". then the devil said, "well i bet you didnt know it but im a photographer too and if you care to take a dare Ill make a bet with you. well you take pretty good pictures boy but give the devil his due, i bet a camera made of gold against your soul that I'm better than you" then bs stood up and said, "well my name is bs and it might be a sin, but Ill take that bet your going to regret because Im the best theres ever been"

so that is why bs is so good, he has a camera made of gold.

could be just a rumor though...

2nite was fun, had a great skate it was the hottest day of the year, then the thunder kicked in, and before it rained i managed to capture some fun shots from a field of the sky / lightning, first time ive done it. It was fun chasing and waiting... using the remote control was the key here though...

Nick - 2, 5, 6 and 8 are especially awesome. Glad you're liking digital. It's weird actually, I've had a photo a lot like #2 in mind for a while, but never got round to shooting it. If I had, that's how I'd have wanted it to turn out. Would you mind sharing settings?

Drunken Monkey, I like all of them but the second one. The flash makes it look amatuer. I really like the angles you used. #1 has a good feel to it. #3 unique #4 cool wall and they are positioned perfect #4 is not the worst but it could be improved.

I'm not sure how its going I gave the files to my friend Natasha two months ago to my friend Natasha. So hopefully its getting done. Its been hard to keep track of my friends in Edmonton because I moved back to my parents house an hour and a half away from Edmonton. Since I work so much I havent been shooting much lately. I have a job working on the oil rigs 10-12 hours a day. It sucks, the work is hard but its paying for all my new camera gear. All these shots (aside from last weeks Global Connections shot) are all two months old.

I just bought a new Canon 580Ex flash I'm dying to test out, since my old vivitar was being held together with my girlfriends hair elastic. With luck I don't have to work tommorow and I'll get some shooting done...

Adam Galwas is so good. He came down to York the other week and showed us all up on our local spots.

homecoming's silo shot is awesome, as is Will Turner's Millennium Wheel one. Really impressive stuff. Man, I've been shooting so much skating recently that I've hardly had time to shoot other stuff. I can't wait until this magazine is finished so I can get back into it.

theres a smaller version of a ledge like that right around me...it goes over a patch of dirt...and all I remember was like 4years ago i tried to switch mizou that thing cliped on the little ledge sticking up at the end in the dirt and flipped forward to face smash.

My thoughts exactly. A solid back royale at night, 2-3flashes. Kinda like that old Neil Semar poster from Daily Bread, that shot was classic...

Like I said I'm working so much that I don't have much time to come on here so I got alot to say today:

Garret, Natasha is a friend of mine I took photography with and she wanted to make me a website for here web design portfolio. Hopefully it'll be done soon.

Cleary, your shots are getting better all the time. Your photos get me so stoked lately, keep up the great work.

BS as usual your shots are awesome.

Its nice to see so many people posting more skate photos all the time; but there are some things to keep in mind.

- Your friend/crew does not need to be in your photo, it ruins the shot (personally I find filmers are kind of a grey area. Sometimes they look cool in the shot, other times they look like a distraction.

- Time of day is huge! I see lots of shots that have so much potential, but if the shot was taken at a different time of day the shot would look so much better.

- Flashes!!! The more the better...

- Research!!! I say this all the time but go grab a copy of DB,Be-Mag, Transworld Skateboarding, or The Skateboard Mag and do some research. Look at those photos and compare them to your own. What are they doing that you aren't doing? Take notes then get back out there and shoot...

you might want to work on some angles so we can tell what's going on. you cannot see the drop on the rail and I have no idea what his happening with the rocket grab. Also, I would try and keep your flashes out of the shots if it all possible.

seems tilted.. align your photo with the pillar. The lighting is alright besides the hotspots, and another flash would be good to your left up the hill.. Not feeling the composition too much..

in my opinion the composition is too tight as it is, i can barely tell whats going on. it's hard to tell but it might look better shot horizontal so you can see how big the bank is. as for the lighting, get the flash up higher and at more of an angle to the skater.

Tim, some of the photo's are from a recent drive out to Mt. Rainier. 34 cars showed up for the drive, Volkswagens, Audi's, and BMW's. We raised a couple hundred dollars for the WSFFA, which is a fund that helps the widows of firefighters.

The rest are from this past weekend, there was a BBQ at a shop in Auburn called TKO Motorwerks. On the way out, we all went to drive down some twisty roads on a road called Diamond Hill Rd.(?) It was pretty sweet... I'm sure the people that live around there didn't like it much, but we did.

the painting was my art a-level final piece. i'm not totally sure why i composed the painting like i did. i liked the mysterious aspect of the painting. so i never put any meaning to it. got me an A, so i was happy!

Ya but means you have to take all the pics from exactly the same spot to make it easy, otherwise u gotta do turning etc, that one was from the same spot exactly so it was real easy to do

wow you have some awsome spots...the sculptural stuff is so rad. anyways you need 2 things. flashes and a much better scanner the scans are awful and kill the pictures. and the flashes...I can tell you have a on camera flash but isnt doing you any good in many pictures the flash isnt even on the subject (the rollerblader)...but the angle choices were pretty good...http://www3.photoservice.com/phsv4_volume/volume105/277505_2455965/m_10740088_0.jpg

this shot with a clean trick and properly lite would be amazing....keep in mind photos are all about light...I suggest not shooting in the shade unless you have flashes.

Vince 88 ...since it's like your 5th or 6th roll of film ..

it's DAMN GOOD ...keep on going you will get there ...Some shots could be better taken somewhat closer , looking through the camera is a bit different than in real life ..keep in mind that the size of the picture is relatively small so you should bring the object of attention closer ..

and just to diss all the people ... I HAVE SKATED ALL THOSE SPOTS !!! Moehaha ..they are so damn nice ...

Some holga shots...they are scans from a contact sheet so the quality is awful. I used this 160speed film my dad had lying around and I think its a little fast for the camera...anyone who shoots holga have a color film suggestion?

shot I took the other day with matthias's(as seen in the picture) camera and flashes...I pretty much setup the picture but got some help with the whole making the flashes actually work thing...those pocket wize multi max are fucking complicated to me...anyways here it is...feedback is appreciated first time I have ever setup lighting for a still picture...btw I used 2 flashes for it...thats what he had but I think the 2nd flash which was placed near the top of the ledge...a little before it and back didnt really fill the backside enough.

I'm sure the pw plus kit (transmitter & receiver) is much easier to use, I cant understand why someone would spend $300 for each multimax transceiver..

Doesnt look like you'll get much ambient light with the surroundings so you might as well just shoot at 1/250 to get rid of the blurs..

they actually have some cool features again I dont know much about this stuff yet but the options to do stuff like delays, stobe etc are pretty cool and pretty sure the more basic ones dont offer anything like that.
