its ok at 1st until you start buying lens which you will get bored of the kit lens fast

and a lot of lens don't auto focus on the d40/d60

the d40 has better sync speed and price in the same body and more than likely you're just taking pictures to put on the interwebs so forget about pixel resolutions.
