i would much rather see balance or core frames with juice blocks than full out freestyle frames. it just seems like a bad business move when you could make the 8 wheel frames and add the juice blocks in there like back in the day incase they wanted to skate freestyle.

i wouldn't go as far as to say it's a bad marketing move. that particular groove works well for some people.
i myself prefer the frames with the juice blocks because i find it easier to pivot from backslide to aotopsides/torque to topsides with out getting wheel bite. fifty-50's have always been what the fuck is up though.

I have the red 8 wheel frames, riding anti. I want to go back to freestyle so bad, I'm tired of my anti wheels scraping the tops of transitions and banks when I go over them.

i agree, fifty-50 is the shit!
but it seems like a very bad business move because you re cutting the potential buyers by AT LEAST (probably more than) half. I'd be willing to bet there are more people that use anti-rockers or some sort of middle wheels compared to how many people skate freestyle. I just think you could cut your costs greatly by just making a normal balance frame with juice blocks for the people that want to skate freestyle.

I've been riding 50-50 ever since the first ones came out (pre ufs). I have only ever broken ONE pair and that's because it was 13 degrees and I came off a drop ledge funny (it was so cold the boot split in half as well). Most dependable frames.
I hate how these frames look. Those grooves look way too deep.
They would probably skate nice with Salomons(without widebodies ofcourse).

me too, i skated the non ufs all the way to the balance. i haven't skated the core frames, but loved all the others. the only problem i have ever had with fifty-50s are the bolts. they would always break or come loose when they were 6mm but then they fixed that with the 8 mm. then a few times the 8mm bolts would just get completely stuck together leaving no way to get them apart without drilling them or something.
i love the plastic fifty-50 uses because it slides great and doesn't wear down as much as ground control and other companies with softer plastic.

if you are complaining about scraping riding anti, you should maybe start skating flat rather than freestyle.

The Ground Control 42mm nylon anti-rocker wheels are one of the most popular on the market because not only do they work well for grinding and sliding, they are relatively inexpensive. The GC 42mm's eliminate the need for a bearing which cuts costs even more for skaters on a tight budget.
I don't like these anti-rocker wheels.
I don't like riding flat, it's too expensive and too fast. I prefer freestyle, and I have never had the scraping issue when I had the first Rachard freestyle frames from 2006. I only experienced it when I got some GC dual injection crap frames, that came with these crap wheels.
I have to use them on the 8 wheel setup because I can't grind with missing inner wheels, I've tried it and ate shit a few times.
i still really want the teal/white fifty-50s with juice blocks.

seriously I skated one pair of balance frames for two years, I had two holes on both sides of each h block and my grind walls were down to mosquito bites (and thats being generous) and those fuckers never ever broke. I want to get the white and blue balances that just dropped, but Im scared to go back to juidce blocks after having these night antirockers for so long

I do stair rides, roll through grass, skate ledges with the worst pavers for ground and love skating park. My wheels have never caught or scraped once.

but with the cores you can always just buy new walls and have a flat frame........ and on that note 50-50 should make more core walls. my flat cores are almost fucked and i cant find size med walls anywhere

No way! I just noticed that the JC frame is actually a regular balance frame and not a balance core frame. That's pretty badass they are releasing that style again. I hope they do more colors in the future because I can't floss the white frames with confidence.
Was that JC's request to not have a core?
al dolega

JC's frame is a Balance CS, meaning with the core... all teal/aqua with white accents.
The frame I posted above is a normal Balance (no core).... all white with teal/aqua accents.
JC prefers the Cores, they're more rigid, thus faster, more precise, etc.
I told them putting the Balance name on the four-wheel (aka "eight wheel" which is retarded) Core frame would be confusing.
Yes I was really confused.
You know what actually made me buy my set of Balance CS frames this winter?
When JC spun the wheel on his frame during one of his tutorials. That was seriously the turning(ha!) point for me. Something about the way the wheel spun in the frame looked so quality.
I love the Cores too. I was just excited that they were going to release even more options than the CS... But they're not. Hopefully they make more sidewalls available again.

Well the idea with the Core system was not just for Fifty50 to release a bunch of sidewalls, but for other companies to hop on board and release Core-system frames/walls as well.... hasn't happened yet. I guess JakeorDie will be the first when he gets his project up and running. It would have been cool if Kizer had made the Element a Core frame, but the wheel/split setup wouldn't have been possible.
Personally I think they'd need to add 240mm and 260mm wheelbases, and beef up the lateral rigidity of the cores in order to attract other companies... maybe add some sort of tapped mounting holes so companies can do a two- or three-piece design, like the freestyle CS's, to make molds cheaper. But all that costs money and Fifty50 just doesn't have it as far as I know... the only people who do are boot companies who know they'll move 10,000 frames, and make back mold costs, just from OEMs on skates alone.
Yes, the roll/glide on a metal or partially-metal frame is significantly better, most people notice it right away, but with grinderblading being #1 priority it's not enough to sway a lot of people. Most people are happy with an all-plastic frame that's lighter and cheaper, so there's little motivation for GC, Kizer, etc to hop on board the Core train.
Do the 8 wheel cores in that color! While you're at it make some juiceblocks for the 8 wheel cores.

I think because Ground Control has a stacked team and cheaper frames a lot of people are missing out on fifty-50 frames. Cheaper products and good marketing always wins doesn't it?
I'm excited for JakeorDie's design because I've been waiting for a flat frame that grinds like a freestyle and it hasn't happened yet. You would THINK that eventually Kizer would have nailed it... Even fifty-50 had to make the groove big because that's what sells frames. The Balance CS is groove is rad for anti rocker but it would be nice to have more options for flat. I think a lot of people are interested in trying it or experimenting with it but they don't want to lose a large percentage of their grinds... I'm not a design guy just a skate nerd but you would think there would be a solid option for flat that could grind really well by now...
The core makes a lot of sense. Too bad it isn't more popular because it would be great to see other companies hop on board and then fifty-50 could make adjustments to it. Three piece designs would especially be interesting. Different kinds of sidewalls and h-blocks for one style would be FUCKING WIN.
That last bit actually sounds like metric frames but I never got to try them.

WORD
I wish the core frames were a few mm higher
and that the groove was exactly like the old balance frames
they would be the most perfect frame for flat if they only changed that little bit imo.
cause they are already great for flat in park.
im just worried to take them to a ledge and in one session make a groove that makes me catch up on flat rocker.
the old balance groove would fix that i think but the old balance frames dont have as wide a plit as the newer frames
