i did not see any dolly shots, but they were smooth clips. quality was sick and the pans were nice.

using a glidecam as a super expensive tripod is effective....

a real tripod costs triple what that glidecam rig costs.

the shots were a mix of dolly+pan, but the track is just so short you dont really notice much movement. Better off making your own 8-10 foot long dolly tracks out of pvc.

nice footage though.

need more close objects to get some parralaxic effects (freestyle translation from german)

hmm, well i'm not qualified to speak on equipment vocab, but I don't think ryan meant these to be a showcase of everything the gear is capable of, just a few shots we got real quick-like while he toyed around.

i really dig eric's skating, but i hate seeing people skate street with a helmet on.

Part of me doesn't like it either, honestly. I often want to throw it aside, but it would be a cop out and I know it. I'm not trying to kill myself blading and I can have a lot more fun if I don't have to worry about my dome, intellectually i'm confident about wearing a helmet, but I get self-conscious sometimes. We all want to be rock stars...

On the up, it has become motivation for me to improve to the point that my skating looks cool with or without a helmet. Not to say that i'm there or that I ever will be, but a girl can dream.
