Whats up,
So just got this Panasonic HDC-HS250 for like 150 dollars. However, I don't know how I'm going to be able to to edit the footage I'm going to film on this new camera. Im I going to have to get a faster computer, a new video card, some new filter/codec. I did some research but I figured someone would be able to tell me the easiest way to go about capturing and editing this footage.
Also does anyone know where I can upload CS4 or CS5 and do those have the capability of capturing and editing AVCHD?
Thanks

I don't know much about specifics with AVC, but I think you can get away with it in CS3 if you convert to an intermediate codec first, which will be a lot bigger file but it won't be as compressed.
CS4 and 5 do AVC natively but you do need a fast CPU (processor) and GPU (video card), and a lot of RAM.
Pirating 4 and 5 is also a huge pain in the ass, and even once you get it working, a lot of the video formats still don't work, which is the situation I'm in- I got CS4 all installed and working, but it won't do HDV, so I haven't edited anything in a while. And now CS3 won't work either...

I'm having the same problem. I got a Canon HV21 for christmas and i haven't been able to use any of my footage. I pirated CS3, until my keygen turned up to be a trojan horse.
And then i tried a couple days ago to get CS5 but my computer is a 32-bit and it needed a 64-bit, and i even downloaded a 64-bit support package to help it but it didnt work, so now im stuck with a camera i cant use and no editing software to use.
Does final cut support AVCHD? im thinking about get a mac and just using that
yeah I always converted over to hdv and that worked fine even though the file sizes are bigger. CS4 works ok with avchd but like Al said you better have a nice system or go ahead and convert to hdv. I think they did some improvements with cs5 for avchd support if you can get that.
