no, cameron m loves them and i respect his opinion. They are light as fuck and cheap. Powerslide isnt giving me many options because the new xsjados have yet to arrive and my only other choice is to get 09 basics that im not all that fond of.

i plan on doing a very extensive review of the Varsities in the next issue of Balance, coming out mid July. the skate will be reviewed as stock, and I will be showing how to remove certain parts and change the colors. it will be very thorough with lots of quality tear-down and rebuild photos of the skates.

My roommate owns a pair of these. He's actually been skating more since he got them, thus so far it's only positive points from me.

Only thing that bothers me a little is that now he wants me to find a pair of red Fiziks frames for him... Who in their right mind would want those skate to be even more red ???

i'll say this much for now:

i have had 10 people try on my Varsities, some who skate and some who don't. Ages ranged from 15 to 45 years old.
every one of them said that they are the most comfortable things they have ever put on their feet, especially in the ankle area. you've heard of people saying that K2s feel like pillows on your feet? well, there is a reason: it's because they are.

and, a size 11 US weighs 3.2 lbs stock with a flat setup, bearings, and a heavy K2 frame. i hope to get mine to 3 lbs even when i modify them. they will be black. 8)

they are the normal souls under the souplate, but narrower to accommodate the soulplates. the soulplate actually looks good, thin but strong. i don'[t think it would be good to try to skate them without the soul plate, considering that there is no backslide plate on the skates. royale based tricks would be completely impossible. everyone has heard me bitch about the plates before i got the skates, but they are actually pretty nice.
