you never roll some real xsjado made by salomon for saying this;
the conference xsjado are super shitty: the plastic got too many flex that you could fucked up your ankle, all of the hardware suck, the strap are shitty too and the footwrap horrible and the color are pretty gay too.
Now I understand why we got some pretty bad quality sk8 because guys like you love the shitty product we have right now. Don t ask about any improvements , Conference just have to make some gay colors parts and you ll be happy. It s SAD four our sports.
Support the shitty skate we have right now; it s now all about the hype.. and you have Cozmo wheels in your sig !!! Pretty strange way of think

The cuffs could be stiffer, that's right. But were they stiffer when Salomon made them? The soulplates could be faster, too. But weren't they as slow when Salomon produced them?

Oh, and you've probably never skated the old Xsjados if you really think the straps were better on them. The velcro was shit and they fell apart quickly when you bailed on concrete. Footwraps is a different story. The current ones are of superior quality then any ever made. The Latimer had the best fit, but the follow ups by Salomon weren't better then the current ones. They shure looked better, but that's personal peference.

The Stockwell 2010s look shite, but the Schwabs are the best looking Xsjados ever made. Again, personal preference.

you say all! you talk about the look of the skate. if you skate for the look now I understand. That s why they produce shitty skate right now If you think all is for the look of the skate. And yes when salomon produce the first xsjado the cuff were more stiff. More stiff mean more durable.
anyway you roll for the style and the look of the skate so don t complain if the quality is shitty.

but i m pretty bored about most of this young noob who skate since 2 or 3 years and fucked up our industry by skating for the style and the look of the skate.
that s why most brand put down the quality of the products.

If Sunshine brought Xsjados, the latter wouldn't have no ankle support AT ALL. Razors cuffs are the most unsupportive cuffs I have ever tried. They don't lock like Roces/Valo or Salomon cuffs, they just "close".

The plastics are exactly the same now as they were from Salomon, save for the souls which are a little harder now, to make them faster.

The soft parts of the skates (straps, padding, etc) were definitely below par for the first two years of Powerslide, but I would say that they are now on par or even better in certain ways (longer top straps with better velcro, Schwab cuff padding is really nice, ringholder comes with two screws).

This idea that the Salomon-produced Xsjados were so perfect and trouble-free is just the hyper-nostalgia that rollerbladers love to apply to everything more than five years old. Every pair of my Salo Xsjados had the ring-twist problem, and so did many of the pairs we sold at Octona; eventually I just started fixing it on all the pairs we got in. We warrantied at least a dozen pairs of cuffs to Salomon and later Trendkiller, and we gave away probably another 3-4 pairs off of old skates we had.

The skate was not and is not perfect. Powerslide's start with the skate was indeed a bit rough, but they have done a good job of catching up. They've kept and expanded the team, kept placing ads, kept sponsoring events. They're already working on a completely new boot. Even if Salomon had never been sold and never axed inline, they almost surely wouldn't be doing any of those things with Xsjado.

21.07.2010, 13:20
ok you re allright conference make those skate better than salomon... In fact it s pretty normal Conference make some improvements because they work on it since long time.Salomon only produce the 1st generation and the DL 2. I ll be curious to ask to farmer or stockwell or latimer wich one they prefer. I m not nostalgic about salomon it s just every company have been beat by the crisis and all the plastic are pretty shitty right now.

Sorry but they re is a big difference in skate made in china and skate made in romania of in the french factory.

I think its safe to assume that sunshine owned them all along

I like my nimh skates more then any other I've had over the last 14 years
I don't care who owns or distrubutes them, i'll continue to buy them
but i have a feeling that sunshine owned them silently all along

I just don't see how somebody with such humble means could afford all to get these molds/patterns etc etc

i'm probably wrong

Both of these statements are wrong. The first batch of Chine made Powerslide Xsjados were shit, but now they are really good. And still made in China. By a different manufacturer apparently.

al dolega
21.07.2010, 13:49
Yea, well, Romania or France are just not going to happen. Salomon doesn't even make their stuff there anymore! It was moved to China a few years ago. Sunshine's stuff has always been made in China too.

Even Bont, a high-end Australian speed skate company, that sells completely custom carbon-fiber race skates that can sell for over a grand, moved production to China a year or two ago.

At this point, lamenting Chinese production is just silly, because pretty much everyone has had to do it. Getting things made anywhere else for our type of market is pretty impractical. And just because a skate is made in China doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be low-quality; they are perfectly capable of producing high-quality stuff.
