dudes been injured quite a bit the past few years.
as far as don being fired, i have no idea why'd they do that so shortly after being issued a pro model. I thought he was really coming up quick the last few years but from a business standpoint, if you can make more money off some cleancut euro dude, fuck it i'd do the same thing in that situation.

Video parts should define wether or not you are a pro. That is the most purest form of how you represent and show how smart you really are with your blading and a well thought out section can do wonders.

Id like to know what more it would take to have made don more "pro" worthy in your opinion? I agree it takes more then video parts but video parts also play a huge part and hes had amazing ones every time out +he was about to be pro for mindgame right before they folded and same shit with salomon. If u ask me u couldnt ask for a better person to have on your pro team maybe u have to know him or have had some kind of interaction with him but hes a really sick dude anyway u look at it obviously in skating and just to be around in general. People can say what they want about murda but hes the shit in my opinion he could sell more skates doing nothing then some people could with monthly edits.

I feel like Dunkle quit/got dropped/I don't know pretty soon after his skate came out, too. I think it was so quick that there was an ad for it in Rejects with his face on it even after he was no longer part of the team.
But that was years ago, and I could very well be wrong. Anybody with a better memory, feel free to correct me.

Seriously, when that's how good your video sections are, winning contests doesn't matter anymore. He's had lots of video sections (as shown above), in major productions, he's had more than enough magazine coverage and pictures, he's been on tour through Europe for quite a while earlier that year, he's been on the road for like a month with the Vibralux dudes (On Top section not shown above by the way), and he's currently filming another major section with them...
Whether his Game Theory section was good or not, whether he's still pro for Razors or not, it desn't take anything away from the fact he very much deserved to be a pro in the first place. If I follow your logic, the whole Xsjado pro team should be fired... And just wait until Al jumps in this thread, ah ah !

That sucks. I was wondering why he didn't compete. As for Murda, I haven't heard shit about that but Brazil told me Murda was hurt for the majority of filming and couldn't get a part done. I was waiting and waiting for the Murda section and when the video was over I was like, WTF?, as were many ppl.

It's quite good actually, Issue 0 was great, he fucked up a little on Issue 1 because he didn't have much time to have someone (= me) translate the whole thing into a decent English version, besides Rob G's interview (which is really good by the way, and featuring shots by Jero, Dominik Swagemakers & Greg Mirzoyan)...
Still worth investing a few bucks, it's not like they were too many magazines in rollerblading anyway.

Ya know he probably should have shown up to SDSF to at least make Razors happy only because his skate just dropped, but if they are saying the reason for firing him is because of the "mocking" of the team, thats crap. When I watched that edit I didnt even think about the razors team at all so I dont see why they would think he was mocking them.

I don't think he ever really cared about being sponsored which issomehow the reason why he keeps getting sponsored. The " i dont care i just shred" attitude. I personally really liked murdas truth2 section but I don't think its pushing the sport in a new direction or anything epic. I think the poeple rolling these days are a considerably older crowd so there's no love for young up and comers that haven't perfected thier style so you have tp keep the old vets on your team kinda of a catch 22 casuse there isn't really room for both.

I doubt it was just for "making a joke" people make mistakes and people understand that people make mistakes. I highly doubt he would be let go for one mistake. I bet it was an accumulation of things that ultimately lead to Don being let go. Razors had a huge investment in don, I think it would take a lot more than a satirical edit that would cause someone to put a stop loss on an investment like that.

Razors aka Mac always has & always will make the worst business decisions. I'm happy for Don - it never really seemed like he fit with the rest of the Razors team & it never seemed like they put forth any effort to get his name out there only AJ gave him any kind of backing. Looking forward to the new sponsor announcement and section.
R-Money$$$$$$ you are right it is an accumulation of things that let him go. Traveling all over the US and Europe the past year and a half filming for their video. Having a great, progressive part in their video. Having photos in magazines. Going to contests to watch Aragon win. Touring with me. Making edits promoting his pro wheel and pro skate. Having a pro skate. Getting drunk and NOT stoned. Being in a hot tub in my edit. Not showing up to SDSF to see Aragon win and re-meet the 60 kids who showed up the night before at the premiere. Hahaha I like this thread, but I am done posting because those are the only things I know he did and the only reasons he was told he was fired. Disrespect is the new 'I missed my flight 4 times' or 'I haven't done anything for your company for 6 years except collect a check'

working in the industry i have for the last 10 years, this is nothing new to me. this release was probably a long time coming, they were just looking for a scapegoat. now, why they released a skate in the meantime is beyond me, unless that deal was made a while ago. was there a contract in place for him to get a skate or compensation?

I brought Don out here and he paid for his own flight home so Andy bought his girlfriend the ticket instead of buying Don his and Don paying for his own.
He did attend the premiere. He receives monthly paychecks based on the work he has done and would have continued to do, IE rollerblade, not hang out at contests (which he did all winter, summer, and spring) He has 5 tricks for my video so I don't think he has put more effort into my video, especially when I spent the first 2 weeks of MY tour filming for the end of his part since Brazil went on a family vacation while Don was out in cali trying to finish. 371 pairs of skates sounds like a problem on the sales side, not the skaters side to me. I don't blame Alex Broskow when we have cords left that have his name on them and tell him he is a shitty rider for my company and he is fired. Get real. Any last questions? When your boss tell's YOU you are fired for X, Y, and Z and the reasons are listed the only thing you are doing by calling more speculations to the REASON he was fired is calling Andy a liar. Last I checked it was bad business to fire someone and give them the wrong reasons for why they were fired, makes you look silly.

thank god for aj, and people like him in this industry. like arlo said in coup de tat "what draws most people to rollerblading isn't the actual activity of rollerblading. it's the lifestyle that surrounds it." i grew up on dailybread and skate videos, which portrayed the lifestyle of being a street skater. not all companies should be promote this (razors probably being one of them) but don bambrick is not jaren grob or someone like that. hes a gnarly ass street skater and thats what he should be paid to do. thats what people like about him. i can't imagine his skate isnt going to sell because he didnt show up at some event hes not going to skate in anyway. thats why aragon is there. kids are going to watch one of don's many video sections and support him because of that.

The quality and look of a product sell a product. So does the sales team. You couldn't sell an ugly Aragon razor that is lime green even if you tried. I'm with David. Don's job for me is to be a street skater and last I checked that's what he has been doing for 12 years. No hostility towards razors because this is a good move for them, a good thing for don, and everyone involved will benefit from this. So keep on bladin little kids and if you like razors skate em. Doesn't matter the politics in Rollerblading, I'm just a guy answering questions and dispelling myths from my source. Not trying to bag on anyone, just think it's a big mistake.

I obviously don't know the whole story but you can't put all the blame on Razors. I just watched the video and that house was amazing. Don was put in a fantastic situation and how he fucked it up is beyond me. If I was put on Razors and given that opportunity I would never ever disrespect Andy/Razors and I would appreciate every fuckin day I had skating for a company that would do that for me. If Razors wanted me at a comp, I'd be there competing, period.

Housing, travel, food, pay, royaltees, pro skate, time, effort resources, man power etc etc etc. Don't act like razors hasn't been a part of Don's success. Don would be successful regardless, but because he was with razors they did play a part in it.
All I am saying is this, with all they have wrapped up in don (a huge inventory of skates to move) I am sure there is more than one reason (the vid) for the decision to let him go. That is a big decision and I am sure it was thought out. I am sure it is best for all parties involved.
To the "bladers blade for the lifestyle" I think that went out the window a long time ago when people realized the life style isn't condusive to living a decent life. Most people in blading right now are in blading to blade...I know I am, purely for the activity of blading. The awesome people I get to meet and be friends with is a fringe benefit. If no one else in the world bladed, I would.

I called u up to fade nation 3 "Green" like 5 months ago because you had it advertised on your site. Even though I knew it wasn't out I figured u might have just gotten it in early or something which is why when I seen it on there I called instead of just ordering off the site. You take my info,credit card number and all this shit tell me ill have it in a few days only for me to have to call YOU after it'd be a few days past arrival time to find out that you'd in fact mistaken fade 3 for fade 2 and u could send me that or truth 2 instead(which Id already ordered from you in the past so its not like I didn't support you). I also ordered a pair of shaman's from you and I had a detailed convo with you about how the featherlight 1's were better then the featherlight 2's in my opinion cause they were thicker and u were advertising having the white shima's on your sight and i specifically wanted those. Seeing as you have been skating for awhile and your a shop owner I was hyped and knew Id be getting the right thing... of course I didnt. Im not necessarily trying to attack you because I took those as mistakes and was a customer still but for you to come on here criticizing others about professionalism just doesnt make sense because your right if you have a shop you better damn well do your job or people wont shop with you. We don't have that many shops as it is so we might as well all shop with the few that do have the professionalism and do they're job... customers want u to have some sort of knowledge of the inventory u have and not be lied to and put off and have to call you find out whats going on with they're product that they've already paid for. That sucks ass. I was actually thinking this morning that Razors was making a good comeback in the blading world and were coming close to competing with Valo and Nimh. Then I come on here and see this shit. They have always had a little sand in their vaginas though. I remember they fired Dre once because he missed a flight because of something totally out of his control.

I called u up to fade nation 3 "Green" like 5 months ago because you had it advertised on your site. Even though I knew it wasn't out I figured u might have just gotten it in early or something which is why when I seen it on there I called instead of just ordering off the site. You take my info,credit card number and all this shit tell me ill have it in a few days only for me to have to call YOU after it'd be a few days past arrival time to find out that you'd in fact mistaken fade 3 for fade 2 and u could send me that or truth 2 instead(which Id already ordered from you in the past so its not like I didn't support you). I also ordered a pair of shaman's from you and I had a detailed convo with you about how the featherlight 1's were better then the featherlight 2's in my opinion cause they were thicker and u were advertising having the white shima's on your sight and i specifically wanted those. Seeing as you have been skating for awhile and your a shop owner I was hyped and knew Id be getting the right thing... of course I didnt. Im not necessarily trying to attack you because I took those as mistakes and was a customer still but for you to come on here criticizing others about professionalism just doesnt make sense because your right if you have a shop you better damn well do your job or people wont shop with you. We don't have that many shops as it is so we might as well all shop with the few that do have the professionalism and do they're job... customers want u to have some sort of knowledge of the inventory u have and not be lied to and put off and have to call you find out whats going on with they're product that they've already paid for. Remember the customer's always right rule? Or am I just that old hah and the only one that realizes maybe a business degree might help some people with supposed business's? I Figured that was the reason u started the shop anyway to provide better services for people so that the very shit u pulled with me wouldn't happen
That's my ex customer standpoint. On a personal level Im also a longtime rollerblader like everyone else and yeah gaining losing sponsor's is definetely a part of it but getting fucked over when u just shed blood and sweat for someone's video and you are the reason for countless people around the world skating the brand shouldn't be.
This would be an amazing burn if it weren't for the ridiculous number of grammatical errors. Kinda makes you look like a moron, even if you're raising valid points and completely owning that bakerized dude. I guess both of you lose.

My football team is not asking my quarterback to return punts.
And my razors team doesnt have to ask Don to win park comps when the prince is doing that plenty good. Don was reping an image and doing it well as HIS PART of the team!

I had the same trouble with grindhouse... Placed an order, didn't hear anything from them, called them after 3 weeks and they said "sorry it was out of stock when you ordered it" (even though their website said they had it)..
So i can believe that you actually did this..

This is now a "Post your bad experiences with Bakerized" thread.
One time I ordered a pair of Con Artist button-ups and they didn't get delivered until two months later. I kinda forgot that I had ordered them (it's not like buying skate parts, when you always eagerly await their arrival) and then one day they showed up. I'd post more stories but I obviously stopped spending my hard-earned money with them after that.
