I've got some of those TRS downtowns with the souls glued to the skin. Has anyone un-glued them? I was thinking of heating them with a torch but I am weary of melting the skate/catching it on fire. It's a pretty soild glue job, I don't see me just pealing it apart.

On my point 8's I used an embossing gun to heat the and slid a wide flat head screw driver between the skin and sole. also used an exacto knife at parts where the glue was still hard.

Biggest tip with this is to be patient. I did my left skate first because I put more beating on my right. I rushed the left one making it fit to a newer sole much looser. The right on is fine though.

i was just helping someone with this yesterday
only thing is make sure the skin and midsoul are off the boot shell.
if you heat up the shell it will just get floppy really fast.
im sure you know this but just in case :)

So how did you heat it? Torch or over or bonfire?

Google. Or you can go to a Arts and Crafts store and pick one up for like $12-$15. They heat a smaller area (about the size of a 50cent piece) at a higher temp. I even used it to mold my shell a little bit to fit better.
